‘sumie’ è un brand di bottoni per abbigliamento, ma anche il nome di mia nonna. La vita è dura non soltanto per lei, ma per tutti, e lo scopo di “Sumie” è trovare un modo per migliorare il quotidiano, creando bottoni impregnati di un po‘ di felicità.

Biografia

Yuuka Miyazono
Nata nel 1985 a Tokyo, Giappone, è artista e designer di bottoni per abbigliamento. È stata allieva di Takehiko Sanada mentre studiava alla Joshibi University of Art and Design. Dopo la laurea nel 2008, ha iniziato a lavorare per un’azienda che commercia tessuti d’abbigliamento in Giappone come designer di bottoni e di altri materiali industriali. Parallelamente ha iniziato a creare opere d’arte reinterpretando il tema del bottone. Attualmente vive a Milano dove svolge un tirocinio in un noto studio di design.

Concept
‘sumie’ is a brand of clothing buttons and also my grandmother’ s name.
She raised my mother single-handed while making their living by dressmaking. She worked really hard to make ends meet. “The happiest moment is when choosing a button that suits the fabric after all the work” , she used to tell me when I was a child.
Life is hard not only for her but for everyone. The objective of the brand ‘sumie’ is to find a way to make the everyday life better,offering people buttons imbued with a piece of happiness.

Biography

Yuuka Miyazono
Born in 1985 in Tokyo, Japan. She is an artist and a designer of clothing buttons. She was a student of Takehiko Sanada while studying her bachelor's degree at Joshibi University of Art and Design. After graduated in 2008, She has been working for a trading company of garment materials in japan as a designer of clothing buttons and other industrial materials.Other than that, she also creates her personal artistic works of clothing buttons. She currently lives in Milan where she has an internship at a design studio.
