Index presenta i disegni di Tommaso Pandolfi per la prima volta come un insieme di rimandi e relazioni complesse. Attraverso la raccolta e l’ordinamento, le tracce sono fissate e osservabili nella loro ambigua presenza. Lo spazio dove ci immergiamo concretizza la sostanza di una pratica in continuo movimento e un flusso inquieto d'indagine di tratti, forme, colori e gestualità. Dalla continuità delle serie e delle esplorazioni, dove Pandolfi insegue e accumula tracce e armonie visive, si passa a un luogo che interrompe la continuità e il flusso dell'incessante esercizio quotidiano. Questi improvvisi lampi di segno e di senso sono raccolti in un indice spaziale che delinea, attraverso uno schema geometrico, un mondo di segni provenienti da un luogo dove tutto è diverso ma tutto può essere disegnato.

Tommaso Pandolfi, è nato nel 1995 ad Ancona, è cresciuto a Perugia, e si è diplomato all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino in Nuove tecnologie dell’arte.
Attualmente vive a Venezia dove frequenta la magistrale di Arti visive all’Università Iuav di Venezia. Disegnatore e compositore di musica elettronica, in entrambe cattura ed evidenzia la tensione che le origina ed attraversa rimanendo al limite tra espressione e rigorosa formalità. Nel disegno, contraddistinto dalla ricerca attorno a un canone figurativo, pone come fondamento espressivo l’iterazione delle tecniche e delle forme. Segno libero e costruzione geometrica sono i due poli con cui lavora, facendoli alternare, combinare e compenetrare.

Index presents Tommaso Pandolfi's drawings for the first time as a set of complex references and relationships and, through a collecting and sorting process, a range of traces were made observable in their ambiguous presence. The space where we immerse ourselves gives shape to the substance of a practice in constant motion and a restless flow of investigation of marks, forms, colors and gestures. From the continuity of series and explorations, where Pandolfi pursues and accumulates traces and visual harmonies, we enter an exhibition that interrupts the continuity and flow of an incessant daily exercise. The sudden flashes of marks and meaning are collected in a spatial index that outlines, through a geometric pattern, a world of signs from a place where everything is different but everything can be drawn.

Tommaso Pandolfi, was born in 1995 in Ancona, grew up in Perugia, and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino in New Art Technologies.
He currently lives in Venice where he is attending the Master of Visual Arts program at the Iuav University of Venice. He is a visual artist and electronic music composer seeking in both practices how to capture and highlight the tension that originates and runs through them while standing on the borderline between expression and strict formality. In drawing, marked by research around figurative canons, he elects iteration of techniques and forms as the expressive foundation of his body of works. Free marks and geometric construction are the two poles within he works, making them alternate, combine and permeate.
