Comunicato stampa

The exhibition features contemporary figures sculpted from life, mainly in Florence and Dublin. Through the language of sculpture, Paddy Campbell tells stories of moments in the lives of both the subject and the artist.
A unique part of the exhibition in the depiction of "Il Mercato Vecchio" in Sant'Ambrogio, Florence in the form of a scenario featuring small life-like characters (more than 100 original wax figures) who buy and sell fruit, clothes, and foodstuff in this quintessential Florentine market.

Biografia

Born in Dublin in 1942, Paddy Campbell lives and works in Florence. He had put his artistic talents on hold to become a succesful entrepreneur in Ireland before coming to Florence in 1996 to study painting. Within a short time he realised that his true gift was sculpture, which he then studied full-time in Florence, before establishing in Via Luna, where he continues to work today.
