La sezione dedicata alle contaminazioni tra cinema e arte contemporanea della 37a edizione di Bergamo Film Meeting permetterà di conoscere da vicino il lavoro di Nathalie Djurberg e Hans Berg, duo svedese Leone d’Argento alla Biennale di Venezia del 2009. La mostra Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg. Rites of Passage porterà negli spazi della cinquecentesca Porta Sant’Agostino i mondi fantastici dei due artisti. The section of BFM37 dedicated to the contaminations between cinema and contemporary art will offer a close-up look on the work of Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg, a Swedish duo awarded with the Leone d'Argento at the 2009 Venice Biennale. The exhibition Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg. Rites of Passage will bring the fantastic worlds of the two artists to life in the sixteenth century spaces of Porta Sant'Agostino.
Per la prima volta il duo presenta una mostra personale nella città di Bergamo. Il sodalizio tra Nathalie Djurberg e Hans Berg inizia nel 2004; il loro lavoro si presenta in grandi installazioni immersive, veri e propri paesaggi dell’assurdo popolati da persone, animali e piante che interpretano pulsioni e contraddizioni dell’animo umano. For the first time, the duo will present a personal exhibition in Bergamo. The partnership between Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg began in 2004; their work is presented in large immersive installations, bizarre landscapes populated by people, animals and plants portraying the impulses and contradictions of the human soul.
Il percorso espositivo, curato da Stefano Raimondi e Claudia Santeroni, si sviluppa attorno ad una grande proiezione e due elementi scultorei, Sunrise e Sunset, che pongono l’accento sul fluire del tempo e sul dinamismo della giornata attraverso lo spazio, giocando con il significato storico della Porta Sant’Agostino, luogo di passaggio e di transito chiamato a scandire i momenti della giornata attraverso le dinamiche di apertura e chiusura del portone. Curated by Stefano Raimondi and Claudia Santeroni, the exhibition develops around a large projection and two sculpural works, Sunrise and Sunset, that emphasize the flow of time and the dynamism of an ordinary day through the use of space, playing with the historical significance of the Porta Sant'Agostino, a place of passage and transit called in time to mark the moments of the day through the opening and closing of the gate.
Nathalie Djurberg e Hans Berg incontreranno il pubblico del Festival sabato 9 marzo alle ore 15.30 presso il Cinema San Marco. Durante l'appuntamento si potranno ammirare una selezione di opere video e ascoltare, attraverso le parole dei protagonisti, le principali implicazioni legate al loro lavoro. Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg will meet the estival audience on Saturday March 9, 3.30PM at Cinema San Marco. During the event, a selection of video works will be available, allowing visitors to learn, through the words of the protagonists, the main implications related to their work.
