Il Teatro Strehler con il suo Sagrato, il Teatro Studio Melato, il Parco Sempione, la Triennale di Milano, lo Spazio Oberdan e l’Auditorium San Fedele sono alcuni dei luoghi attorno nei quali per 11 giorni il festival porterà film e ospiti da tutto il mondo.

Torna, alla sua diciannovesima edizione, il Milano Film Festival, dal 4 al 14 settembre. Il Teatro Strehler con il suo Sagrato, il Teatro Studio Melato, il Parco Sempione, la Triennale di Milano, lo Spazio Oberdan e l'Auditorium San Fedele sono solo alcuni dei luoghi attorno nei quali per 11 giorni il festival porterà film e ospiti da tutto il mondo.

Il festival è un’occasione unica per affacciarsi con le più recenti produzioni, dai giovani registi che sperimentano nuovi linguaggi, alle più coraggiose cinematografie internazionali; il programma di quest'anno presenta circa 200 opere raramente visibili in sala, tra anteprime internazionali e incontri con i talenti emergenti.

Anche quest’anno la programmazione è ricca e articolata: oltre al Concorso lungometraggi, aperto solo a opere prime e seconde di registi provenienti da ogni parte del mondo, e il tradizionale Concorso cortometraggi, riservato a registi under 40, non mancano focus e rassegne fuori concorso; The Outsiders, la sezione “fuori categoria” del Milano film Festival: anteprime, inediti, opere senza distribuzione, pellicole invisibili; la decima edizione della rassegna Colpe di Stato, che si sofferma sulla realtà complessa del sistema di potere nel mondo; l’immancabile Focus Animazione con la tradizionale maratona di corti al Parco Sempione e un workshop in collaborazione con Milano Film Network, quest’anno tenuto da Alan Holly; Vernixage, che per il quarto anno consecutivo indaga l’incontro fra arte contemporanea e cinema; la iper-maratona di Video Espanso; gli eventi speciali Are you series?, in collaborazione con Banca Prossima, con incontri sul mondo delle serie web e la proiezione del secondo episodio della webserie vincitrice del bando, I 400 sorsi, un concorso per cortometraggi dove l'acqua è protagonista, in collaborazione con Gruppo CAP e Metropolitana Milanese. L’evento VisitSweden, l’appuntamento per i più piccoli con il Milano Film Festivalino e infine gli appuntamenti di musica con i concerti sul Sagrato e PARKLIVE, un festival di concerti e dj-set in programma ogni sera alle 18.30 al Parco Sempione.

The 19th edition of Milano Film Festival comes back this year from 4th to 14th September 2014. The Teatro Strehler with its Esplanade, the Teatro Studio Melato, the Parco Sempione, the Triennale di Milano, Spazio Oberdan and the Auditorium San Fedele are some of the venue where the Festival will bring films and guests from all over the world for 11 days.

The festival is an unique opportunity of great attention to the most recent production, young filmmakers who experiment with new languages and the most courageous international cinemas; this year’s programme presents some 200 films rarely possible to see in cinemas with international premieres and meetings with emerging talents.

The programme includes the Feature Film Competition, open only to first and second films by directors from all over the world, and the traditional Short Film Competition, for directors under 40; out of competition focuses and sections; The Outsiders, alongside the competitive sections of the festival: unreleased, not hand-out or invisible films; the tenth edition of Colpe di Stato, which dwells on the complex reality of the system of power in the world, always; the Animation Focus with the traditional marathon of short films in the Parco Sempione and a workshop in collaboration with Milano Film Network, held this year by Alan Holly; Vernixage, which for the fourth year running tried to investigate the common areas between contemporary art and cinema; the hyper-marathon of Video Espanso; the special events Are you series?, in collaboration with Banca Prossima, with meetings on the world of web series and the screening of the second episode of the winning web series of the competition, The 400 sips, a competition for short films where water takes the leading role, in collaboration with the Gruppo CAP and Metropolitana Milanese. The VisitSweden event; the rendezvous for kids with Milano Film Festivalino and lastly the music events with the concerts on the Esplanade and PARKLIVE, a festival of concerts and DJ sets every evening at 6.30 p.m. in the Parco Sempione.
