La rassegna attraverso otto autori, vuole indagare il lato oscuro, misterioso e problematico della riflessione artistica, intrisa di quella nigredo che era propria degli spiriti malinconici, ma ora non esente dall’indagine sul presente e una diversa percezione dell’oggetto.

And when at last the work is done / Don't sit down it's time to start
another one
At the beginning of the Seventies, the oil crisis and the food shortage add up and confirm that the country is living beyond its means: a political and financial ploy that leads to governmental austerity brings Italy to recession for the first time in the postwar years. In the same period, during the years of terrorism in the peninsula, space probes are sent off to new adventures, Mars as the main target. The Sixties drive seems to acquire a new light: mankind is actually still far away from the Red Planet. Undoubtedly, it’s time to come to terms with the harsh and grim reality, with a consequent disenchantment with all the lost utopias.

And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to the heart
The Dark Side of the Moon album is released in 1973 and today those existential but deeply melancholic atmospheres are felt as current as ever. Life urges, besieges the human soul not just in occasional, daily emergencies, but in the historical configuration of a new centrality. Through eight authors, the review aims at exploring the obscure, mysterious and troubling side of the artistic quest, merged in that Nigredo which used to mark the melancholic spirits, but that nowadays doesn’t cut itself off from investigating the present and from perceiving the object differently. The decision of the object to remain silent, leads it to its pure and simple neglect: its self-retreat in the prime constitutive elements, a step forward towards an actual and, at last, poetic reading.

All’inizio degli anni 70 la crisi petrolifera e il deficit alimentare si sommano e confermano che il Paese sta vivendo al di sopra delle proprie possibilità: una manovra politica ed economica che conduce all’austerity governativo fa sì che l’Italia per la prima volta dal dopoguerra, entri in recessione. Negli stessi anni, i cosiddetti anni di piombo nella penisola, sonde spaziali vengono lanciate vero nuove avventure, obiettivo Marte. La spinta propulsiva degli anni ’60 sembra colorarsi di una diversa luce: in realtà l’uomo ancora è ben lontano dal pianeta rosso. Indubbiamente si fanno i conti con un presente reale e duro, spigoloso, e il conseguente disincanto delle utopie perdute.

Nel 1973 esce The Dark Side of the Moon e oggi quelle atmosfere esistenziali ma profondamente malinconiche sono tornate ad essere attuali. La vita preme, assedia l’animo umano non solo nella fattispecie di una quotidiana emergenza, ma nella configurazione storica di una nuova centralità. La rassegna attraverso otto autori, vuole indagare il lato oscuro, misterioso e problematico della riflessione artistica, intrisa di quella nigredo che era propria degli spiriti malinconici, ma ora non esente dall’indagine sul presente e una diversa percezione dell’oggetto. La decisione di tacere da parte dell’oggetto, lo conduce verso il suo abbandono puro e semplice: il suo ripiegamento negli elementi costitutivi ultimi, un passo avanti verso una lettura vera e finalmente poetica.
