Ragioni Tecniche is proud to announce its exhibition of new works by Ian Brill called “Currencies,” opening on 8 June 2023 and on view till 15 July. Ian Brill is an artist from New York and currently living in Pittsburgh who creates multi-sensory environments and installations using light and sound. For Ragioni Tecniche Mr. Brill created a new installation as well as a series of screen prints based on his sculptures.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday June 8, 2023 at 6PM and is open to the public.

Currencies will also be Mr. Brill’s first exhibition in Italy. The works on view were created exclusively for the gallery and will demonstrate a new pathway that connects the artist’s installations and phenomenological sculptures with his elegant two-dimensional representations of his work. The prints were created individually and by the artist’s own hand using a rich spectrum of chromatic relationships that mirror the varying degrees of warm and cool illuminations in Brill’s sculptures.

Through the creation of interactive, performative and multi-sensorial environments, Ian Brill considers boundaries of becoming (versus being) and our immersive relationship with technology. His installations, performances and writing have been presented internationally, at conferences, festivals museums and galleries.

Brill has exhibited widely across North America and Europe with a recent exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego. Currently, he teaches at Penn State University.

Ragioni Tecniche is a contemporary art gallery located in Camp San Beneto in Venice’s San Marco district.

I have been a fan of Ian Brill’s work since we first met in 2000. Ian is one of those rare talents with a natural feel for light, sound and their aesthetic interplay. We are thrilled to show his latest work and bring it to our Venetian and Italian audiences. As his Italian debut we are also honored to be representing Ian Brill with this new body of work that coincides with the 2023 Bienal d’architettura in Venice.

Ragioni Tecniche è orgogliosa di annunciare la sua mostra di nuove opere di Ian Brill intitolata “Currencies”, che aprirà l ' 8 giugno 2023 e sarà visitabile fino al 15 luglio. Ian Brill è un artista di New York e attualmente vive a Pittsburgh che crea ambienti multisensoriali e installazioni usando luce e suono. Per Ragioni Tecniche Mr. Brill ha realizzato una nuova installazione e una serie di serigrafie basate sulle sue sculture.

Il ricevimento di apertura si svolgerà giovedì 8 giugno 2023 alle ore 18: 00 ed è aperto al pubblico.

Currencies sarà anche la prima mostra di Mr. Brill in Italia. Le opere esposte sono state realizzate in esclusiva per la galleria e dimostreranno un nuovo percorso che collega le installazioni e le sculture fenomenologiche dell'artista con le sue eleganti rappresentazioni bidimensionali del suo lavoro. Le stampe sono state create individualmente e di mano dell'artista utilizzando un ricco spettro di relazioni cromatiche che rispecchiano i vari gradi di illuminazioni calde e fredde nelle sculture di Brill.

Attraverso la creazione di ambienti interattivi, performativi e multisensoriali, Ian Brill considera i confini del divenire (rispetto all'essere) e il nostro rapporto immersivo con la tecnologia. Le sue installazioni, performance e scrittura sono state presentate a livello internazionale, a conferenze, festival, musei e gallerie.

Brill ha esposto ampiamente in Nord America e in Europa con una recente mostra al Museum of Contemporary Art di San Diego. Attualmente insegna alla Penn State University.

Ragioni Tecniche è una galleria d'arte contemporanea situata a Camp San Beneto, nel quartiere San Marco di Venezia.

Ian è uno di quei rari talenti con una sensazione naturale per la luce, il suono e la loro interazione estetica. Siamo entusiasti di mostrare il suo ultimo lavoro e portarlo al nostro pubblico veneziano e italiano. Come suo debutto italiano siamo anche onorati di rappresentare Ian Brill con questo nuovo corpo di lavoro che coincide con la Biennale d'architettura 2023 a Venezia.
