“The Sacred Enters Where It Is Allowed” brings together Filippo Cegani and Riccardo Di Caro in a dialogue where painting becomes a site of spiritual tension. Across two contrasting visual languages, both artists investigate how the sacred persists, transforms, and returns through the act of painting.

Cegani draws from Western iconography to revisit the ancient theme of memento mori: rusted helmets reflecting funeral processions, veiled skeletons in prayer, figures suspended between decay and devotion. His works meditate on mortality as the origin of the sacred.

Di Caro, by contrast, embraces an Eastern-leaning, process-based spirituality. Reworking fragments of anime culture, he builds suspended narratives where moments never resolve—loops of presence, distraction, memory, and becoming. Life and death coexist in constant motion.

Together, their paintings inhabit the threshold between the finite and the infinite, revealing a shared search for meaning in the space between living and dying—a place where, perhaps, “God” still resides.
