Presentazione del catalogo della mostra Berlin 192010 – George Grosz Luca Vitone.

Comunicato stampa

The de' Foscherari Gallery is pleased to invite you to the catalog presentation of the Berlin 192010 - George Grosz Luca Vitone exhibit on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11:00 together with the artist Luca Vitone and the critic Jörg Heiser. The publication not only documents the exhibit with reproductions of the two artists' works installed in the gallery's space, it also gathers images of the the works of the Der Zukunft Glanz cycle by Vitone, of which Berlin 192010 is the last stage. The book, designed by Daniele Caspar, is enriched by a text from Jörg Heiser and translated into Italian and English by Enrico Ganni and Nicholas Grindell, respectively.
Der Zukunft Glanz, shifted translation of "the sun of tomorrow", proposal for a dawn that turned out to be a sunset. Seven wall sculptures and five collages tell about a thirty years journey occurred from the time of my first trip to Berlin in 1985 up to now, when this has become the city where I live. Everyday life objects, found in the places I visited and inhabited, live side by side with windows, observation filters, and with the flag colors, witnesses of the political unification of the Country. These works are complemented by a video and a carousel featuring three bicycles. A fun tool, but also a means of transportation, the bike in the video runs across the former East side of the city from north to south through a subjective shot at the sound of the business signs, sung as lyrics to the most famous tune of international socialism. An urban and social transformation in which Berlin has been playing a major role recently, same as it did immediately after World War I with the birth of Weimar Republic, undisputed destination for those who wanted to experiment, as demonstrated here by George Grosz, direct interpreter of the moral essence of human being.
