Domenica 7 dicembre, alle 17.00, Choisi - one at a time vi invita alla presentazione del libro d’artista Niamey-Iférouane ((petites histoires incertaines)) di Adriana Beretta, pubblicato da Artphilein Editions. Con questo evento Choisi - one at a time partecipa a Open Gallery #8.

In Niamey-Iférouane ((petites histoires incertaines)) Adriana Beretta riproduce l’improvviso manifestarsi di un violento temporale a Niamey in Niger, attraverso la sequenza di quattordici fotografie, scattate quasi per caso, con un piccolo apparecchio analogico. Le immagini sono poi state reinterpretate sul filo della memoria.
Questa breve possibile narrazione, riferita sì ad un’unità di tempo e di luogo, non conduce però alla riproduzione di quanto accaduto in quello spazio e in quel tempo. L’evento rimane nell’incertezza, analogamente alle micro storie sahariane raccontate nella lettera, scritta da un amico ad Adriana, per aggiornarla sul progetto comune di costruzione di una casa a Iférouane, un’oasi fra le montagne dell’Aïr. Anche questo progetto, seppure descritto nei minimi dettagli, trova concretezza unicamente nella relazione e nello scambio, situandosi altrimenti nell'ambito delle "rêveries".

On Sunday, December 7th, at 5:00 pm, Choisi - one at a time is pleased to invite you to the presentation of the artist's book Niamey-Iférouane ((petites histoires incertaines)) by Adriana Beretta, published by Artphilein Editions (2014). With this event Choisi - one at a time participates in the Open Gallery #8.

The spectacle of a sudden, violent thunderstorm and sandstorm in Niamey in Niger is described by Adriana Beretta in a sequence of fourteen original photographs taken with a tiny analog camera, almost casually and later reinterpreted based on pure recollection. Within the setting of this possible narrative, connected by time and place, simply telling the story sequentially doesn't provide a complete understanding of the event that actually happened. What occurred is left rather uncertain. The same uncertainty links the Saharan micro-stories, told in parallel, in a letter, written by an African friend of Adriana's, in order to brief her about a common project of theirs, building housing in Iférouane, an oasis located in the Aïr mountains. This project, although described in detail, only materializes in a relationship and in an exchange, otherwise it would be situated within the "rêveries".
