Volcano Extravaganza 2012 will inaugurate its activities on July 20th, at sunset.
Volcano Extravaganza officially begins its profusion of events with a talk by Michael Sanchez. He is the first of a varied series of guests, invited to perform a speech facing the volcano, on a stage of blacks rocks surrounded by the foam and splash of waves.
Sanchez will be speaking about German artist Jutta Koether’s most recent season of production.
Michael Sanchez holds degrees from Harvard University and Columbia University in New York, where he is currently a PhD candidate in Art History. His critical writing has appeared in Artforum, Texte zur Kunst, and elsewhere.

Volcano Extravaganza inizia ufficialmente la sua profusione di eventi con il talk di Michael Sanchez, primo di una serie variegata di ospiti invitati a performare il proprio monologo di fronte al vulcano, su una piattaforma di rocce nere sferzate dalle onde.
Il soliloquio di Sanchez riguarderà la più recente produzione dell’artista tedesca Jutta Koether.
Michael Sanchez è laureato ad Harvard e alla Columbia University di New York, dove attualmente svolge il dottorato di ricerca in Storia dell’Arte. I suoi testi critici sono pubblicati su Artforum, Texte zur Kunst e numerose riviste di settore.
