Barbati Gallery is pleased to present Snoring Sounds, the first solo exhibition in Venice by Danish artist Tobias Just. Opening on October 2, 2025, the show brings together works that inhabit the space between painting and drawing, where fragility, materiality, and the unfinished intertwine.

Through delicate layers of color, erased traces, and shifting motifs, Just transforms everyday impressions – from pharmacy displays to the quiet presence of insects inhabiting his room – into images caught between reality and imagination. Embracing failure, mistakes, and uncertainty as central aspects of his practice, he allows each work to remain alive and open-ended.

Snoring Sounds offers a pause to perceive what often lies unnoticed: subtle feelings and overlooked presences, given form through a visual language that unfolds slowly, like a breath in the dark.

Tobias Just (b. 1998, Denmark) lives and works between Brussels and Copenhagen. He graduated from the Department of Sculpture at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg, where he studied under Jason Dodge. His works have been presented in international institutions and independent spaces such as Den Frie (Copenhagen), YWV (Vienna), and Fasilet Art Circus (Hamburg). Snoring Sounds is Just’s first solo exhibition in Italy.
