Nach mehreren Einzelausstellungen in Italien, sowie Teilnahmen an zahlreichen Gruppenausstellungen im In- und Ausland, deren Höhepunkt sicherlich die Präsenz im italienischen Pavillon auf der 54. Biennale in Venedig 2011 war, ist dies nun die erste One-Man-Show von Sandro Palmieri in Berlin. Die Galleria Nove zeigt vom 22. Juni bis zum 14. Juli 2012 einige ausgewählte Großformte auf Leinwand des 1976 in Treia geborenen Künstlers.
„Es sind Computermonitore und Hauptplatine die apokalyptische urbane Szenarien formen, gar Massen an Hochhäusern und Stadtmauern, illuminiert von einem letzten nuklearen Schimmer. Prozessoren und verschiedene andere elektronische Elemente werden, gleich einer Art halluzinativen Schocks, zu Alleen und Gebäuden einer neuen urbanen Realität. Soviel zu der Ikonographie des Werkes von Sandro Palmieri. Zur Technik hingegen ist zu sagen, dass es sich dabei um eine gespritzte und explodierte Malerei handelt, durch einen leichten und pulverartigen Wind animierte Darstellungen, mit ans Visionäre angrenzenden chromatischen und optischen Effekten. Sein Werk wird zum vitalen Hauch einer kontemporären Gesellschaft, die schon jetzt Ruinen und Reste dessen hinter sich lässt, was bis vor Kurzem noch Zeichen ihrer Stolzes und Fortschritts war.“ - Marco Tonelli

Dopo varie mostre personali in Italia e numerose partecipazioni a collettive sia in patria sia all´estero, il cui culmine era sicuramente la presenza nel padiglione italiano alla 54° Biennale di Venezia nel 2011, questa è la prima one-man-show di Sandro Palmieri a Berlino. A partire dal 22 giugno sino al 14 luglio 2012 la Galleria Nove presenta pochi formati grandi su tela selezionati dell´artista nato nel 1976 a Treia.
Monitor e schede madre di computer a formare apocalittici scenari urbani con tanto di grattacieli e muri di una città, illuminata da residuali bagliori nucleari. Processori e vari altri elementi elettronici diventano, una sorta di shock allucinatorio, viali e edifici di una nuova realtà urbana. Questo per quanto riguarda l’iconografia dell’opera di Sandro Palmieri. Per il mezzo usato invece, una pittura schizzata ed esplosa, immagini animate da un vento sottile e pulviscolare, con effetti cromatici e ottici ai confini della visionarietà. La sua opera diventa soffio vitale di una società contemporanea che già lascia dietro di sé residui e rovine di quello che, poco tempo prima, era segno del suo orgoglio e del suo progresso. - Marco Tonelli

After several solo-exhibitions in Italy as well as participations in numerous group-exhibitions inland and abroad, crowned with the call to the Italian Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011, this is the first one-man-show in Berlin of Sandro Palmieri, born 1976 in Treia. The Galleria Nove shows from June 22nd till July 14th 2012 some selected large scales on canvas.
“There are computer monitors and motherboards to form apocalyptic urban scenarios, scores of high risers and city walls, illuminated by residual nuclear gleam. Processors and various electronic elements become, just like a kind of hallucinated shock, alleys and buildings of new urban reality. So much for the iconography of Sandro Palmieri´s work. The used technique instead is a sputtered and exploded painting, images animated by a soft and powdery wind with optical and chromatic effects on the border of foreseeing. His work becomes a vital breeze of a contemporary society that already leaves ruins and rests behind of what – most recently - had been symbol of its proud and progress.” – Marco Tonelli
