Theory Tuesday III: Ping Pong/Philosophy Slam

Ping Pong/Philosophy Slam at Gervasuti Foundation on Tuesday 10th September, at the J Bar, from 7pm. Followed by dj set by SSSTUXNET.
Ping Pong and Philosophy are both disciplines which require strong tactics to defeat an opponent.
The Ping Pong/Philosophy Slam aims to chart the moment when philosophy becomes farce simultaneous to the instance in which 'play' becomes deadly serious.
Other objects of inquiry include the adversarial nature of argumentation itself, and the ludicrousness of being earnest in a world as unpredictable as ping pong.
Method: people will be paired and given subjects to argue over whilst playing ping pong. A referee will award points based on debating skills combined with ping pong proficiency.

Theory Tuesdays
Gervasuti Foundation presents Theory Tuesdays, a weekly dialogue about contemporary art and philosophy, featuring international professionals from different backgrounds.
The event is a part of ‘Joan of Art: Towards a Free Education System’.
