La Mostra ripercorre la carriera dell’artista Occhiomagico con una selezione di lavori dal 1974 al 2015.

Col Fiato Sospeso | Inventario 1974>2015.

“Inventario” è un insieme di fotografie di OCCHIOMAGICO che ripercorrono la storia dell’artista dal 1972 anno d’apertura dell’omonimo studio multimediale agli ultimi lavori del 2015.

Dalle prime indagini sulla veridicità della fotografia (Le due verità, 1974) al lungo percorso che vede l’immagine fotografica confrontarsi e corrompersi con la pittura, la musica, il disegno, la scultura (Le 24 copertine per Domus, 1981/1983. Falso movimento, 1989/1990). I video e le prime esperienze con l’olografia ed infine la fotografia digitale (Cover’s 1996/1999) e le sue conseguenze (MiVida, 2000, Talking about,2003/2004).

Fino agli ultimi lavori dove l’immagine fotografica incontra di nuovo il disegno, la pittura e gli oggetti tridimensionali (Col fiato sospeso, 2014/2015).

From the first investigations on the veracity of photography ( The two truths , 1974) to the long path which sees the photographic image to confront and corrupt with the painting ,the music, the drawing and the sculpture ( The 24 covers for Domus , 1981/1983 . False movement, 1989/1990 ) .
The videos and the first experiences with holography and finally the digital photography ( Cover 's 1996/1999 ) and its consequences ( mivida, 2000, Talking about , 2003/2004) .

To his last works where the photographic image meets again the drawing, the painting and the three-dimensional objects ( With bated breath , 2014/2015 ).

OCCHIOMAGICO nasce nel 1971. (Giancarlo Maiocchi nel 1949)

Influenzato profondamente dal lavoro di Man Ray teorizza (1974) sulla "Piacevolissima Illusione" della fotografia.

Miscelando esperienze simboliste, surrealiste, metafisiche e psichedeliche indirizza la sua ricerca verso un linguaggio multimediale che definisce "Nuova Fotografia".

Collabora con Ettore Sottssass (Menphis), Aldo Rossi (Il Teatro del Mondo), Michele De Lucchi e riviste come Casa Vogue, Interni, Abitare, Ottagono, Modo. Per la Moda collabora con Cinzia Ruggeri, Moschino, Armani e riviste come Uomo Vogue, Vogue Italia, Amica.

Dal 1990 affronta una dimensione più intima costruendo paesaggi immaginari, ma credibili, abitati da figure femminili ed oggetti sospesi in perenne attesa.

Dal 1990 affianca all'attività artistica quella d'insegnante (I.E.D. Arti Visive Milano, Ist. It. di Fotografia Milano, IED Comunicazione Milano). Visitor Professor all'École d'Arts di Losanna, Bauer, NABA, Accademia di Brera a Milano).

Le Opere di OCCHIOMAGICO sono presenti in importanti collezioni pubbliche e private.

OCCHIOMAGICO is born in 1971 (Giancarlo Maiocchi in 1949)

He is deeply influenced by Man Ray's works, and in 1974 he conjectures upon "the most pleasant" illusion of photography.

By mixing different kinds of experiences (symbolism, surrealism, psychedelics and metaphysics) he points his studies towards a multimedia language he calls "New Photography".

In the same period he works with Ettore Sottsass (Menphis), Aldo Rossi (Il Teatro del Mondo), Michele De Lucchi and magazines such as Casa Vogue, Interni, Abitare, Ottagono, Modo. For fashion he works with Cinzia Ruggeri, Moschino, Armani and magazines such as Uomo Vogue, Vogue Italia, Amica.

Since 1990 he enters a more intimate dimension, creating fictional but believable landscapes, dwelled by women and suspended objects, as if eternally waiting.

Since 1990 he joins his artistic activity with teaching (IED Arti Visive Milano; Istituto Italiano di Fotografia, Milano; IED Comunicazione, Milano). Visitor professor at École des Arts in Lausanne, Bauer, NABA, Accademia di Brera in Milan).

Works by Occhiomagico are present in the most important collections, both public and private.
