Comunicato stampa

OBLIO / Gold is an expansion of Mussie's recent projects Oblio (2021) and Oblio/Pianto del Muro (2022), which introduce her research on public art. Through the use of gold thread, her aim is to bring light to and deconstruct colonial narratives. Referencing her project, Foro Foro (2022), Mussie will continue the use of Braille and textile art/embroidery to highlight the visible, invisible and tactile.

The exhibition opening will feature the sale of items by local social tailoring project Coloriage. Coloriage's migrants and refugee tailors participated in Mussie’s Oblio/Pianto del Muro performance in 2022.

Muna Mussie (1978) Eritrean artist based in Bologna, investigates the performing arts and the scenic languages to give shape to the tension that arises between different expressive poles, through gesture, vision and word.
