dispari&dispari project ha il piacere di invitarVi Sabato 8 Dicembre 2012 ore 18.00 alla inaugurazione di 'We Never Have Enough', una esposizione di recenti opere di Katrin Plavcak. Questa è la seconda mostra personale dell'artista Austriaca nello spazio espositivo di Reggio Emilia nell'arco di pochi anni. L'esposizione comprende un gruppo di collage, dipinti e oggetti. Ma cos'è che non abbiamo mai abbastanza? Probabilmente la ricerca della soddisfazione attraverso la sfrenata accumulazione di oggetti e beni materiali, un layout ben radicato nella costituzione umana per desiderare e ottenere di più una volta che il pulsante ricompensa è premuto. Di certo i lavori esibiti mettono in discussione l'atteggiamento del capitalismo che crede nella crescita infinita e nell'avidità di profitto. Il titolo 'We Never Have Enough' è emblematico e lascia lo spettatore a guardare le opere della mostra con queste parole ben impresse nella mente. Nel dipinto "Hunting Glory, 2010" vediamo dei pirati raccolti intorno ad un grande Ippopotamo ucciso, solo un altro animale si sente triste per la morte. C'è la pittura "Erfolg und Verwahrlosung, 2011" che parla del successo e come esso sia collegato alla ostinazione ed un'altra "Begegnung auf offener See, 2011" circa l'assurdità che circonda certe leggi di guerra. Un gruppo di strani dipinti di paesaggio offre una radiazione di sfondo dove corpi e menti disconnesse fluttuano tutto attorno, le case sono visitate dai loro più grandi parenti astratti, il paesaggio diventa splendente e le nuvole giocano a Tetris per la noia. E' una parata di caricature dell'umanità, con i loro eccessi e segreti fissati nella pittura. Al centro dello spazio espositivo c'è un gruppo di recenti oggetti che dialogano con il tempo e la percezione e un piccolo eroe Cinese che appare per aiutare tutti noi ad attraversare la confusione nella quale ci troviamo.

PRESS RELEASE: dispari&dispari project is pleased to invite you to the opening of 'We Never Have Enough', an exhibition of recent works by Katrin Plavcak, on Saturday, December 8th, 2012 – 6 pm. This is the second solo show by the Austrian artist in the exhibition space in Reggio Emilia within a few years. The exhibition comprises of a group of collages, paintings and objects. But what is it that we never have enough of? Probably the search for satisfaction through an unbridled accumulation of objects and material goods, a layout planted in the human constitution for desiring and achieving more once the reward button is triggered. For sure the work in the exhibition questions attitudes to a capitalism that believes in never ending growth and greed for more profit. The title 'We Never Have Enough', is emblematic and leaves the viewer to look at the works of the show with these words in the back of his mind. In the painting "Hunting Glory, 2010" we see pirates gathered around a big killed Hippo, and only another animal is feeling compassion for its death. There is the painting "Erfolg und Verwahrlosung, 2011" about success and its possible connection to waywardness and another one "Begegnung auf offener See, 2011" about the absurdness surrounding certain laws of warfare. A group of strange landscape paintings serve as background radiation where disconnected minds and bodies are floating around, houses are visited by their bigger abstract relatives and landscape itself becomes vivid and clouds play Tetris out of boredom. It is a parade of caricatures of human kind with their excesses and secrets put down in paint. In the center of the exhibition space there is a group of recent objects dealing with time and perception and a small Chinese hero appears to help us all through the mess we are in.
