Hosted by the Pietro Canonica Museum at Villa Borghese, the exhibition series Fortezzuola (2016–2018), curated by Pier Paolo Pancotto, features a number of international artists engaging with Rome history and culture as a source of inspiration. This limited edition book consists in the appropriation of the Museum guidebook, with the addition of a new dust jacket and a series of photographic inserts throughout the pages. The edition collects works by Martin Soto Climent, Alfredo Aceto, Claire Tabouret, Tillman Kaiser, Claire Fontaine, Ciprian Mureșan, Nick Devereux, Benjamin Hirte, Chadwick Rantanen, Denis Savary, Landon Metz, Șerban Savu and Rolf Nowotny.
The book will be introduced by Pier Paolo Pancotto and Samuel Gross.
On the occasion Alfredo Aceto will present the sound piece Modesty or Surprise (2016), previously shown at Canonica Museum, in a new setting
