Form & Rhythm ( work on paper and new wall drawing) è il titolo dell’esposizione presso Noire Gallery, prima esposizione personale a Torino, in cui l’artista presenta 12 opere a pastello su carta e un wall drawing che coinvolge lo spazio della galleria.

Artista viaggiatore, David Tremlett è un nomade curioso del mondo. Attraverso la sua opera interpreta le sue esperienze di viaggio fatte di luci, colori, architetture. Il viaggio diventa un’esperienza fenomenologica, registrazione di forme e suoni per ‘’creare trame e ritmi piuttosto che un palcoscenico per un’attività narrativa’’. E come esperienza ontologica, ‘’Il viaggio per me è alla base della vita’’.
I wall drawings e i disegni geometrici… rettangoli, trapezi, cerchi e triangoli, diventano un alfabeto segnico versatile e universale.
La ricerca di un modo per ridurre le cose al minimo, una ricerca delle qualità essenziali è parte integrante dell’opera dell’artista.’’ Il punto è raggiungere un risultato che mi sembri esatto e chiaro. E questo si basa sul colore, la geometria, la proporzione. Ma dietro c’è tutto un mondo di esperienze che entrano a far parte del mio lavoro. Possono essere dei paesi stranieri, la purezza delle forme africane, la bellezza delle chiese in Italia, persone che ho conosciuto o altro... Questo è il mio bagaglio culturale. Se qualcuno volesse analizzare un particolare dettaglio magari potrebbe riuscire a determinare una specifica influenza. È come comporre musica o scrivere: a un certo punto fluisce fuori di te e ti trasporta. Il materiale originale è la tua storia. Ma nel farlo, cerco costantemente di ridurre ciò che fluisce fuori di me. Non creo per accumulazione. Faccio l’opposto, riduco i wall drawing finché non arrivo al punto in cui posso dire: bene, ci siamo’’.

David Tremlett, artista britannico (Cornovaglia 1945). Ha studiato al Birmingham College of Art e al Royal College of Art di Londra. Si afferma sulla scena internazionale negli anni settanta. A partire dagli anni Ottanta ha adottato come prevalente mezzo di espressione il wall drawing eseguito con pastelli colorati, realizzando interventi in musei, spazi pubblici, gallerie e dimore private di tutto il mondo.
Tra i luoghi in cui l'artista è intervenuto nel corso degli anni ricordiamo brevemente: la Cappella di Barolo (Italia) decorata insieme a Sol LeWitt, l’ ambasciata inglese a Berlino, la sede del British Council a Nairobi (Kenya), la chiesa di S. Pietro e S. Paolo a Villenauxe-la-Grande (Francia), l’opera di Santa Giulia e Palazzo Barolo a Torino (Italy), Tate Britain (Londra).
Form & Rhythm ( work on paper and new wall drawing) is the title of the exhibition at Noire Gallery, the first personal exhibition in Turin, in which the artist presents 12 works produced with crayons on paper and a wall drawing which engages the gallery space.
The travelling artist, David Tremlett is a globe trotter, curious about the world.
In his work he gives his interpreration of his travel experiences made up of lights, colours, architecture.
The journey becomes a phenomenological experience, a recording of shapes and sounds to ‘’create plots and rhythms, almost a stage for a story telling‘’.It is like an ontological experience, ‘’travelling is the basis of life for me’’. 
The Wall drawings and the geometric drawings... rectangles, trapeziods, circles, triangles, become a versatile and universal sign alphabet.
The research for a way to reduce things to a minimum and for essential quality is an integrant part of the artist's work. ‘’ The point is to achieve a result which I consider exact and clear. 
This is based on colour, geometry, proportion, but behind this there is a whole world of experience which enters to become part of my work. 
They might be foreign countries, the purity of the African forms, the beauty of the Italian churches, people I met or more...This is my cultural baggage. If someone was to analyse a particular detail, they might be able to determine a specific influence. It is like composing music or writing : at a certain point it flows out of you and you are transported away. The original material is your story, but in creating it I try constantly to reduce what is flowing out of me. I do not accumulate. I do the opposite, I reduce the wall drawing until I arrive at the point in which I can say: good, that's it’’.
David Tremlett, a British artist (Cornwall 1945). He studied at the 
Birmingham College of Art and at the Royal College of Art in London. He became known on the international scene in the seventies.
From the eighties he adopted wall drawings made with coloured pastels as his main means of Art expression. 
He exhibited his work in museums, public spaces, galleries and private property all over the world. Amongst the many places where the artist exhibited over the years, we can recall briefly:the chapel in Barolo ( Italy ), decorated together with Sol LeWitt, the English embassy in Berlin, the head of the British Council in Nairobi ( Kenya ), St. Peter's and St. Paul 's church in Villenauxe-la-Grande (France), TheTate Britain (London), Opera di Santa Giulia e Palazzo Barolo, Torino( Italy).
