Bill Lynch – By my rock in Central Park
I lavori di Bill Lynch (Albuquerque, New Mexico, 1960 - Raleigh, North Carolina, 2013) sono stati esposti da White Columns, New York (2014), The Approach, Londra (2015, 2017), galleria che rappresenta l’artista, Tanya Leighton, Berlino (2015) e The Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublino (2016).
The exhibition presents a selection of paintings and drawings by Bill Lynch for the first time in Italy.
Between 1978 and 1982 Lynch trained as an artist at Cooper Union in the East Village, near the heart of New York’s underground scene. The young Lynch remained outside the main gallery trends, looking elsewhere. While he studied the works of western masters such as Titian and Goya in museums he regularly attended, he was most fascinated by Chinese and Japanese painting. This is evident in his choices of subject matter as well as in his brushstrokes and compositional formats.
