Control continues Achille Filipponi’s ongoing investigation into systems of protection and prevention, departing from the possibility of communication loss.

The vocal apparatus is a threshold of contact and its potential failure extends into a less measurable form of aphonia, where physiological impairment and emotional incommunicability begin to overlap. A diagnosis can precede its symptoms. Somewhere between prognosis and prophecy, it introduces a future condition into the present. The patient/the public inhabits this interval, while the voice lives as a ghost of itself.

Between legislative ergonomics and psycho-physical adaptation, protocols regulate the aesthetic and functional features of the exhibition, treating the voice as the future archaeological shell of human emotional communication, already defined by the possibility of failure and the certainty of its extinction.
