È stata recentemente inaugurata al Whitney Museum of American Art di New York, la retrospettiva dedicata ad Andy Warhol (Pittsburg, 1928 – New York, 1987). Con più di 350 opere la mostra Andy Warhol — From A to B and Back Again racconta la produzione dell’artista a partire dai rocamboleschi inizi come illustratore negli anni ’50, fino alle ultime opere realizzate negli anni ’80. Ed ecco i quaderni traboccanti di schizzi risalenti al 1956; ma anche gli autoritratti, che seguono le varie fasi della sperimentazione artistica del maestro. Fino alla Big Electric Chair (1967-68), ai Brillo Boxes (1969) e a film come Jill and Freddy Dancing (1963) e Edie Segdwick (1965). Sono le inconiche opere pop raffiguranti attori, cantanti e personaggi pubblici a popolare le sale dello spazio espositivo: da Mao Zedong a Elizabeth Taylor, da Marilyn Monroe a Elvis Presley, da Jacqueline Kennedy a Mick Jagger. Un percorso attraverso la creatività e genialità di uno dei più grandi artisti del Novecento. Ecco le immagini.
