Comunicato stampa
Chiaromonte, the editorial platform probing the intersections of contemporary art and culture, opens its physical space in Turin with Final Closet, a solo exhibition by Berlin-based sculptor Nancy Lupo. The exhibition opens on October 31, 2025, at 6:00 PM, on the occasion of Turin Art Week 2025. Lupo’s work investigates material culture and language through sculpture, exploring how collective fantasies and emotions manifest in form. Her practice embraces ambiguity and disorientation as sources of tension and creative potential, inviting viewers to navigate materials, spatial configurations, and overlooked everyday objects that shape our relationship to reality. Lupo holds degrees from The Cooper Union and Yale University. Since 2024, she has been appointed as a professor at Kunsthochschule Mainz. Nancy Lupo is an artist currently based in Berlin. Her sculptures engage with material culture and language, exploring how collective fantasies and emotions become embedded in form. She tests ambiguity and confusion as conditions that are both unsettling and full of potential. Recent exhibitions include Disko Bay at Kevin Space, Vienna, Austria; Our Villas at Apollo, Mainz, Germany (2025); Princessletthewind at Kunstverein Schwerin, Schwerin, Germany (2025), and Hallelujah Electricity at Good Weather, Little Rock, Arkansas (2025).
