Una doppia personale di due giovani artiste tedesche che realizzano sculture in ceramica e porcellana.

Il 20 settembre la Galleria Antonella Villanova inaugura a Firenze in via Maggio 19R Nora
Arrieta/ Keiyona Stumpf, una mostra che presenta ed evidenzia le differenze e le assonanze
tra due approcci all’uso della ceramica in scultura.
Arrieta e Stumpf affrontano la realtà nel suo complesso, tra progresso tecnologico e
necessità di tutela dell’ambiente, inteso come luogo in tutte le creature sono chiamate a
convivere. Tuttavia, sebbene entrambe indaghino la quotidianità, da un lato Nora Arrieta ne
descrive le caratteristiche come un vorticoso girone di colori e forme distorte, arricchito
dall’utilizzo compulsivo di riferimenti iconografici comuni a tutti; dall’altro Keiyona Stumpf
attinge alla vasta e sinuosa gamma di forme naturali e marine, dai tentacoli alle grandi
attinie che sembrano voler raggiungere lo spettatore in un gioco di attrazione e repulsione.
Nella stessa data inaugura il quarto appuntamento di BACHECA, progetto a cura di Pietro
Bagnai, con Macaría, un’installazione site-specific di Diletta Fachechi.
Nora Arrieta è nata nel 1989 a Lipsia. Ha frequentato l’Accademia di Scultura a Berlino e ha conseguito un
Master in Ceramica presso la New York State College for Ceramics at Alfred Uniersity, Alfred, NY, Stati Uniti
Vive e lavora a Höhr-Grenzhausen, in Germania
Keiyona Stumpf è nata nel 1982 a Monaco di Baviera, dove ha frequentato l’Accademia di Belle Arti.
Vive e lavora tra la Germania e gli Stati Uniti.

On September 20, Galleria Antonella Villanova (Via Maggio 19R, Florence) inaugurates Nora
Arrieta/ Keyona Stumpf, an exhibition that showcases two approaches to the use of
ceramics in sculpture, highlighting their differences and affinities.
Arrieta and Stumpf engage with the complexities of our world, reflecting on the juxtaposition
between technological progress and the need to protect the environment, understood as a
shared space where all living beings must find ways to coexist. While both artists explore
the everyday, Nora Arrieta depicts daily life as a swirling vortex of colors and distorted forms,
enhanced by a compulsive use of familiar iconographic references. Keiyona Stumpf, on the
other hand, draws from the vast, fluid gamma of natural and marine forms, from tentacles
to giant sea anemones that seem to reach out toward the viewer in a dynamic of attraction
and repulsion.
The same date marks the inauguration of the fourth phase of BACHECA, a project curated
by Pietro Bagnai, with Macaría, a site-specific installation by Diletta Fachechi.
Nora Arrieta was born in 1989 in Leipzig. She attended the Fine Art Sculpture in Berlin and took a Master's
degree in Ceramics from the New York State College for Ceramics at Alfred University, Alfred, NY, United
States. She lives and works in Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany.
Keiyona Stumpf was born in 1982 in Munich, where she attended the Academy of Fine Arts.
She lives and works between Germany and the United States.
