Riccardo Camoni – The Imprint
Mostra personale.
Comunicato stampa
Martina Simeti opens the new season on 30 September with The Imprint. Riccardo Camoni, 1979–1983, a solo exhibition curated by Mariuccia Casadio.
Riccardo Camoni (Buenos Aires 1950 – Bologna 2008) developed an artistic practice that intertwined painting, sculpture, and installation. The work of Camoni was exhibited in a number of solo and group exhibitions, in Italy and abroad. In Camoni’s works, the pictorial surface opens into space, acquiring architectural and environmental qualities, in dialogue with Italian conceptual and post-informal practices from the 1970s to the 1990s.
The Imprint will mark the conclusion of the program at Via Benedetto Marcello.
Following this project, Martina Simeti will relocate to Via Seneca, to the space that also hosts the Turi Simeti Archive. The Gallery and the Estate will share this venue, presenting an overlapping and diverse program of exhibitions, residencies, screenings, and gatherings.
This new chapter will begin in the fall with an artist residency by RM, the presentation of Davide Stucchi’s monograph (Davide Stucchi: Light Lights, Mousse Publishing, 2025), and a screening by Goton and Mimosa Echard on the occasion of her book launch (Mimosa Echard: Lies, Mousse Publishing, 2025).
The first exhibition in the new space, scheduled for January 2026, will be a solo show by Soshiro Matsubara. In April, Matilde Cassani will present a project including works by Turi Simeti, inaugurating a series of dialogues with Turi carried out jointly by the Gallery and the Estate.
