Lunedì 30 giugno 2025, alle ore 19:00, Quartz Studio è lieto di presentare Wurzelkinder, la prima personale a Torino dell’artista italiano Lorenzo Aceto (Pescara, 1985).

Il titolo della mostra – spiega l’artista - è tratto dal libro per bambini Etwas von den Wurzelkinder, che si può tradurre come ‘Qualcosa dei bambini delle radici’. Si tratta di una fiaba dei primi del Novecento, scritta e illustrata da Sibylle von Olfers che racconta di bambini che vivono sottoterra durante l’inverno e che, con l’arrivo della primavera, escono alla luce per portare con sé insetti, fiori e frutti per poi tornare nel grembo della terra con l’autunno. Ho trovato questa immagine suggestiva ed in sintonia con il mio lavoro, che è profondamente legato alla terra come elemento generativo e rigenerante. Una terra che accoglie, trasforma e ingloba, dove le figure si confondono, passando da soggetto a oggetto.

Lorenzo Aceto (Pescara, Italy, 1985) è un artista visivo che lavora con la pittura ed il disegno. Nel 2010 ha conseguito il diploma di laurea presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino. Tra il 2009 e il 2013 ha collaborato con la Galleria Cesare Manzo di Pescara, dove ha tenuto due mostre personali. Nel 2016 è stato selezionato per Pilotenkueche, un programma internazionale di residenza per artisti a Lipsia, in Germania, dove attualmente vive e lavora. Nel corso degli anni ha esposto in numerose gallerie in tutta Italia, ricevendo riconoscimenti e premi sia a livello nazionale che internazionale.
La ricerca artistica di Aceto si sviluppa su due livelli interconnessi: un’indagine formale sul linguaggio della pittura e una riflessione concettuale sul rapporto tra l’umanità e l’ambiente. Il suo lavoro è radicato nella pittura figurativa. Il suo processo creativo è dinamico: il disegno stimola la pittura e, a sua volta, la pittura arricchisce il disegno, dando vita a un ciclo di esplorazione in continua evoluzione.

On Monday, June 30, 2025, at 7:00 pm, Quartz Studio is pleased to present Wurzelkinder, the first solo show in Turin by the Italian artist Lorenzo Aceto (Pescara, Italy, 1985).

The artist explains that the exhibition title is from the children's book Etwas von den Wurzelkinder, translated as "The Story of the Root Children." This early 20th-century story, written and illustrated by Sibylle von Olfers, is about children who live underground in the winter and come out during spring to forage for insects, flowers, and fruit, before returning to the depths of the earth in autumn. The artist found this image to be evocative and resonant with his work, deeply connected to the earth as a generative and regenerative element. The earth receives, transforms, and absorbs, and it is where figures merge, shifting from subject to object.

Lorenzo Aceto (Pescara, Italy, 1985) is a visual artist who works with painting and drawing. In 2010, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino. Between 2009 and 2013, he worked with the Cesare Manzo Gallery in Pescara, where he held two solo exhibitions. In 2016, he was selected for Pilotenkueche, an international artist residency program in Leipzig, Germany, where he currently lives and works. Over the years, he has exhibited in numerous galleries across Italy and has received recognition and awards nationally and internationally.
Aceto’s artistic inquiry unfolds on two interconnected levels: a formal investigation into the language of painting and a conceptual reflection on the relationship between humanity and the environment. His work is rooted in figurative painting. His creative process is dynamic; his drawing stimulates painting and, in turn, painting enriches his drawing—forging an ever-evolving cycle of exploration.
