La personale di Radomir Damnjan presso la Federico Bianchi Contemporary Art è legata agli ultimi anni dell’attività dell’artista. Centrale all’evento (alle ore 19.00) si svolgerà la performance “Pitturare a terra” già proposta in varie occasioni museali.
L’azione dell’artista si espliciterà nella posizione del corpo, nella disciplina dello sguardo, nella tensione della mano con il pennello, nel ritmo del respiro, nel movimento fisico e nella temporalità del gesto.
Per Damnjan ‘pitturare la pittura’ è quindi il manifesto attivo del significato contemporaneo del linguaggio pittorico puro, che si esprime nelle opere presenti lungo le pareti della galleria con una disciplina/libertà dicotomica.
Radomir Damnjan è nato a Mostar (Serbia) il 10 dicembre 1936; vive e lavora a Belgrado e Milano. Ha preso parte molte volte alla Biennale di Venezia, a Documenta Kassel, alla Biennale di Sao Paolo, Biennale di Tokyo, alla Biennale di Sidney e alla Quadriennale di Roma. Molte delle sue opera si trovano in molti musei come il Centre Pompidou di Parigi, il MoCA in S.Francisco, il Moderna Museet Stoccolma, il Museo de Arte Contemporanea Belo Horizonte, il Museo d'Arte Moderna di Belgrado, il museo Guggenheim di New York e il Fondo Artistico dell'Archivio Storico della Biennale di Venezia.
Dipinti, performance e scultura sono i suoi mezzi preferiti di espressione.

Radomir Damnjan – Pitturare la pittura

Radomir Damnjan's solo exhibition at Federico Bianchi Contemporary Art is bound to the last years of the artist's production. Core of the event (at 7 p.m.) will be the performance "Painting on the ground", already proposed in various museum occasion.
The artist's action will be carried out by the position of the body, the discipline of the gaze, the tension of the hand with the paintbrush, the rythm of the breath, the physical movement and the temporality of the gesture.
For Damnjan "pitturare la pittura" is therefore an active manifesto of the contemporary meaning of the pure pictorial language, which expresses itself in the work on the gallery's walls with a dichotomous discipline/freedom.
Radomir Damnjan was born in Mostar (Serbia) the 10th December 1936; he lives and works in Belgrade and Milan. He took part many times at Biennale in Venice, at Documenta Kassel, at the Biennial in Sao Paolo, at Tokyo Biennal, at Sidney Biennal and at Quadriennale in Rome.
