Comunicato stampa

Un’arte differente la loro, tra loro e dalle altre: punti di fuga l’opera di Alfonso Firmani, gente di passaggio e sguardo in movimento, fermati in un’istante di pietra dietro, a lato, quasi un aggancio perchè l’abbandono del colore avvenga senza che la visione resti indietro o si smarrisca…. un restare procedendo e un dire parole che escono dalla tela , sfuggenti e per questo rincorse;

“…Two parallel lines never meet, nevertheless it is possible to imagine such a far off point in space, so far away within the infinity that we may believe and admit the two parallel lines to meet here. Let’s call this point improper point…”. It is therefore at such an improper point, right here, that the two parallel lines Alfonso Firmani and Beppo Zuccheri (artists different in age, origin, and education who met by chance and luck) encounter their own correspondences, their own projections on the canvas where directions, awsomeness, references, beams of light, perspectives and personal shades intersect.
Their art is different from the others and between them, too: Alfonso Firmani’s work is made of accidental points, passing people and moving glances halted in a moment made of stone from behind and aside. It is almost a contact as the unguarding colour occurs without a dropped behind or lost sight….it is a proceeding stay and a statement of words coming out of the canvas, they’re elusive and therefore pursued;
Beppo Zuccheri’s level laying-down work: it’s an uninterrupted extension of primary objects progressively raised to myth and brought forward to knowledge, as if the substance evolved not in the passing of time anylonger, but in the course of a look and became a theme, a thought, an archetype, a too often bitter meditation.
What connects them, well then, in the mentioned improper point? It’s the narrative trigger of books and incommunicable writings as well as matters and things and simple remnants of a complicated existence coming out of the level in order to suggest a sometimes transparent story itself, or sometimes just a striking one, surely a recall to everybody to read their own story in it.
If we have a few (but essential) mutual signs and we go in the same direction (and the art gesture allows it), at a certain extent, at the improper point, we’ll meet.
For Alfonso Firmani and Beppo Zuccheri the point is now.
