In seguito all’alluvione del 25 ottobre, case, orti, canali, strade e attività commerciali di Monterosso (la sola insieme a Vernazza ad esser stata colpita nelle Cinque Terre) hanno subito danni ingenti e la ricostruzione sarà complessa. La Galleria Open Mind di Milano vi propone un confronto tra il prima e il dopo attraverso le fotografie di Miriam Rossignoli.

La Galleria Open Mind di Milano vi propone un confronto tra il prima e il dopo attraverso le fotografie di Miriam Rossignoli:
il punto di vista dell’autrice è inserito senza scampo all’interno del paese natale, il suo non è un voler parlare della situazione ma un dover guardare, la necessità di vedere e l’esigenza di scoprire e capire quale ferita è stata inflitta alla sua terra, accollandosi la sua parte di responsabilità, sopportazione e sofferenza.
La serata sarà dedicata alla memoria del volontario della Protezione Civile di Monterosso Sandro Usai, medaglia d’oro al valore civile, il quale ha perso la vita durante l’emergenza. Il ricavato sarà devoluto in beneficenza a favore della Squadra Protezione Civile/A.I.B. -Sandro Usai- Monterosso al Mare.

Il suo spirito creativo ed etico l’avvicinano a tematiche ambientali e sociali e i suoi progetti, curati attraverso competenze artistiche acquisite nel tempo e in contesti differenti, esprimono questa sensibilità.

Exhibition opening and fundraising event:

The exhibition will be be on display from Tuesday, February 21st to Saturday, February 25th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3.30 to 7 p.m.

Due to the flood of October 25th 2012, homes, kitchen gardens, channels, roads and businesses of Monterosso (one of the two villages, along with Vernazza, of the
Cinque Terre damaged) suffered enormous devastation and reconstruction of the town will be complex.
The Gallery Open Mind di Milano is proposing a visual comparison of Monterosso before and after the flood, as seen through the photography of Miriam Rossignoli:
The photographer’s point of view is inescapably intertwined with the fact that Monterosso is her home town. She does not intend to discuss the situation but rather has a need to discover, see and understand the injuries inflicted on her land, shouldering her share of responsibility, patience and suffering.
The evening will be dedicated to the memory of Sandro Usai, a volunteer member of the Monterosso Civil Protection organization (Protezione Civile)who lost his life during the tragedy, recipient of the Gold Medal for Civil Valour. Proceeds collected from the evening will be donated to the Civil Protection and Volunteer Firefighters association of the village of Monterosso, named after Sandro Usai (Squadra Protezione Civile/A.I.B. -Sandro Usai- Monterosso al Mare).

Born in La Spezia on November 3rd 1981, she lived in Monterosso al Mare until she was 20 years old. She is a designer by training and a photographer by passion. Her creative spirit and ethical nature lead her to focus on environmental and socially important subjects. Her projects, influenced by the artistic skills acquired over time and in various various contexts, reflect these sensibilities.
