Comunicato stampa

Weaved memories, rising through the time's trail.
Works from previous projects, reborn in a new frame: these are Mary Cinque's Future memories on exhibition from August 9th to 24th in the beautiful contest of Palazzo Sasso in Ravello, on the Amalfi Coast.

The hotel's external space will host in an original mounting - conceived by Pasquale Ruocco and ARC association by Bruno e Luigi Mansi - works belonging to the series Oleum and Display.

“Future Memories, says Mary Cinque, rose up from my thought about time's and things' caducity. It belongs to my anxiety for a quickly changing world where objects, images and perception of the reality are more and more elusive and we must redefine them each time. Even if this is an interesting challenge, too."

Art historian Massimo Bignardi's text will accompany Mary's works.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

Works from "Oleum" series depict the mediterranean flora. Realized for an art exhibition in Bitonto, Puglia, they are an homage to the oil and to the mediterranean culture. They are enamel on baking paper, framed by a passe-partout, polaroid photographs-like. Many of them carry a golden insert that comes from Pocket Coffee chocolates.
In "Display" series (enamel and acrylic on canvas, cm 20 x 20) there are depicted everyday's life objects, owned or just longed for, by the artist. Loved objects, corroded, even if only in immaterial way, by the time and soon became old, condemned in the waste circle, evidence of the past.
