Lello Masucci – Solo Vesuvi
La mostra sarà un focus interamente incentrato sullo storico ciclo pittorico dedicato al Vesuvio, una serie di lavori iniziata da Masucci già negli anni Ottanta e che sarà uno dei temi ricorrenti del suo repertorio artistico.

La Galleria Andrea Ingenito Contemporary Art è lieta di annunciare la terza mostra personale (dopo le mostre “Le ferite dell’anima” nel 2018 a Milano e “Pitture Velate” nel 2019 a Napoli) del maestro Lello Masucci “Solo Vesuvi”, che si terrà dal 17 febbraio al 31 marzo 2023, opening 16 febbraio ore 18:00.
L’artista sarà presente il giorno dell’inaugurazione dalle 18:00 alle 20:00.
La mostra sarà un focus interamente incentrato sullo storico ciclo pittorico dedicato al Vesuvio, una serie di lavori iniziata da Masucci già negli anni Ottanta e che sarà uno dei temi ricorrenti del suo repertorio artistico. Era il 1984 quando il primo Vesuvio (che anticipa di un anno il celebre “Vesuvius” di Andy Warhol) prende la sua forma e con una connotazione ben lontana dai celebri Vesuvi dei paesaggisti. Dal Vesuvio di Masucci fuoriesce un’esplosione cromatica che si mischia con il cielo e con il mare, facendo così della montagna una figura quasi surreale e differente dall’immaginario collettivo, o, come definito dal celebre storico dell’arte Filiberto Menna, “Una perturbante figura onirica”.
In occasione della mostra saranno esposti circa 20 lavori della serie dedicata al Vesuvio realizzati sia su tela che su carta, tra cui quelli celebri realizzati negli anni Ottanta.
Una celebrazione al mito del Vesuvio, quel mito a cui la città di Napoli è indissolubilmente legata.
The Andrea Ingenito Contemporary Art Gallery is pleased to announce the third solo exhibition (after "Le ferite dell'anima" 2018 in Milan and "Pitture velate" 2019 in Naples) of master Lello Masucci "Solo Vesuvi", which will be held from 17th February to 31st March 2023, opening 16th February at 18:00.
The artist will be present on the occasion of the opening from 18:00 to 20:00.
The exhibition will be a focus entirely dedicated to the historical cycle on Vesuvius, a series of works begun by Masucci as early as the 1980s and which will be one of the recurring themes of his artistic repertoire. It was 1984 when the first Vesuvius (anticipating Andy Warhol's famous 'Vesuvius' by a year) took its shape and with a distant connotation from the famous Vesuvius of the landscape painters. From Masucci's Vesuvius appears a chromatic explosion that mixes with the sky and the sea, making the mountain an almost surreal figure, different from the collective consciousness, or, as defined by the famous art historian Filiberto Menna, "A disturbing oneiric figure".
About 20 works from the series dedicated to Vesuvius, created both on canvas and on paper, will be on display at the exhibition, including the famous ones created in the 1980s.
A celebration of the myth of Vesuvius, the myth to which the city of Naples is inextricably linked.
