Giulia Messina – I could live without you

Comunicato stampa

LUPO is pleased to present I COULD LIVE WITHOUT YOU, Giulia Messina’s new solo exhibition, exploring desire, intimacy, excess and control through the rituals of drinking and sociality. Moving between painting, sculpture, video and installation, Messina transforms familiar objects of conviviality, glasses, bottles, tables and candles, into ambiguous presences, suspended between attraction and distance, pleasure and vulnerability.

For the exhibition, the gallery itself becomes an imaginary bar: music, light, scent, drinks and intimate settings create an immersive atmosphere inspired by prohibition-era venues and fictional nightlife. During the opening, visitors will be invited to step into this environment rather than simply observe it, becoming part of a space poised between participation and abstention, surrender and control.
