Giovedí 17 maggio a Genova, in Piazza Banchi dalle ore 11 e successivamente di fronte alla sede della Banca d'Italia, Eleonora Chiesa presenta la prima tappa di T.R.U.E. Project - Thousands of Reasons for Uprising in Europe.
Il progetto T.R.U.E. vedrá il suo primo atto a Genova, in Piazza Banchi, proprio dove, nel 1407, nacque la prima vera e propria banca moderna, il Banco di San Giorgio.
T.R.U.E. Project muove da una serie di riflessioni sull'attuale condizione dei cittadini degli Stati europei durante la crisi economica sopraggiunta in questi ultimi anni.
La crisi economica che l'Europa e l'Occidente intero stanno attraversando costringe quotidianamente molte persone all'indigenza, al peggioramento generale delle condizioni di vita, alla progressiva sottrazione dei diritti fondamentali della democrazia, tra i quali l'istruzione, il diritto al libero accesso alle cure sanitarie o la garanzia di un posto di lavoro con diritti sindacali minimi e basilari.
Il denaro altro non è che carta stampata con simboli convenzionali cui è stato attribuito un valore di scambio. I conti correnti sono misuratori di crediti o debiti, di cui risulterebbe impossibile la liquidazione simultanea del controvalore in oro. A questo si aggiungono i soldi già spesi e non ancora posseduti, veicolati dalle carte di credito.
L'intera riflessione di T.R.U.E. Project si focalizza intorno alla domanda su quale sia dunque il vero valore del denaro (e delle banconote, "promesse su fogli di carta") che usiamo.
Il denaro e il suo valore dipendono da chi lo usa e dal potere che gli si attribuisce.
Demitizzare la banconota, renderla accessibile, fornirne una "seconda versione" attraverso la provocazione è un gioco che si vuole mettere in atto per spodestarla dal ruolo ciecamente sacro che ricopre nella nostra societá.
I cittadini degli Stati che in maniera piú tragica hanno risentito delle conseguenze della cosiddetta Crisi sono giá oggi chiamati a riflettere, compiere scelte e prendere posizione in vista di un futuro realmente possibile. Roma, Atene, Madrid, Lisbona sono le capitali simbolo di questo processo: qui avranno luogo le altre tappe di T.R.U.E. Project.

Thursday, May 17 in Genoa, in Piazza Banchi from 11am onwards, in front of the headquarters of the Banca d'Italia, Eleonora Chiesa will present the first stage of the T.R.U.E. Project - Thousands of Reasons for Uprising in Europe.
The T.R.U.E. project will see its first action in Genoa, Piazza Banchi, exactly where, in 1407, the first real modern bank was born; the Banco di San Giorgio.
The T.R.U.E. Project is motivated by a series of reflections on the current status of European citizens during the economic crisis that has arisen in the past few years.
The economic crisis that Europe and the entire Western world are undergoing is daily forcing many people into destitution, having to face the overall deterioration of living conditions, the progressive removal of basic democratic rights, including education, the right to free access to health care or the guarantee of a job with basic, minimum working rights.
Money is merely paper printed with conventional symbols that have been assigned an exchange value. Current accounts are measured by credits or debits, which would be impossible to simultaneously liquidate for their relative value in gold. Add to this the money that is already spent, yet not owned and channelled through credit cards.
The entire reflection of the T.R.U.E. Project focuses on the question of what is therefore the true value of the money (banknotes, "promises on pieces of paper") that we use?
Money and its value depend on those who use it and the power attributed to it.
Demythologizing the banknote, making it accessible and providing a "second version" of it through provocation is a game that needs to be played in order to remove it from the sacred pedestal upon which our society has blindly placed it.
Citizens of countries that have been most tragically affected by the consequences of the so-called crisis are today called upon to reflect, make choices and hold their position in sight of a future that is really possible.
Rome, Athens, Madrid and Lisbon are the symbolic capitals of this process and will be the locations of other milestones of the T.R.U.E. Project.
