BUILDINGBOX dedica la stagione 2019-2020 al vetro contemporaneo con il progetto Dalla sabbia, opere in vetro, un ciclo espositivo in 12 appuntamenti con cadenza mensile a cura di BUILDING, in collaborazione con Jean Blanchaert.

Il terzo artista del ciclo Dalla sabbia, opere in vetro è Jan Fabre, che partecipa con la sua opera Shitting doves of peace and flying rats, 2008.

"Animale-umano, vegetale-umano, materiale-umano e spirituale-umano partecipano simbolicamente alla creazione di immagini e forme arcane dell'ossessione "essere o non essere" di Fabre, come in Shitting Doves of Peace and Flying Rats (2008), realizzato con inchiostro di Bic blu applicato manualmente su vetro.
Sin dagli Assiri, per i quali Semiramide volò in cielo nella forma di una colomba, le colombe, vive o morte, sono state animali di pace, spiritualità ed elevazione alla purezza del bene e della giustizia [...]. Al contrario, i Flying Rats, che non appartengono alla famiglia delle colombe, sono grigi, piccioni tristi e litigiosi: il lato oscuro delle colombe [...]. Colombe della pace e piccioni della guerra. L'Essere della vita e l'Essere della morte[1]

BUILDINGBOX is dedicating the 2019-2020 season to contemporary glass art with the project Dalla sabbia, opere in vetro [From sand, artworks in glass], an exhibition spread over 12 monthly appointments, curated by BUILDING in collaboration with Jean Blanchaert.

The third artist of the cycle From sand, works in glass is Jan Fabre, who takes part with his artwork Shitting doves of peace and flying rats, 2008.

"Animal-human, vegetable-human, material-human and spiritual-human symbolically participate in the creation of the images and arcane shapes of Fabre’s “to be or not to be” obsession, like in Shitting doves of peace and flying rats(2008), made with blue Bic ink manually applied to glass. Ever since the Assyrians, for whom Semiramis flew to heaven in the form of a dove, alive or dead doves have been animals of peace, spirituality, and elevation of the purity of good and rectitude [...]. On the contrary, the Flying Rats, which do not belong to the rodent family, are grey, dreary and quarrelsome pigeons – the doves’ dark side [...]. Doves of peace and pigeons of war. The Being of Life and not Being of Death."[1]
