Per la sua prima personale a Firenze, Claudia Passeri presenta una serie di opere in cui il tempo emerge come elemento del controllo e strumento del possibile riscatto. Parallelamente nel Srisa Project Space si inaugura la mostra personale di Greg Watts.

Per la sua prima personale a Firenze, Claudia Passeri presenta una serie di opere in cui il tempo emerge come elemento del controllo e strumento del possibile riscatto. Attraverso immagini che alludono allo sfruttamento, simboli della produzione, narrazioni sulla storia dell’arte, l’artista connette tra loro epoche remote e indica una possibile speranza.
La mostra, evoluzione del progetto presentato nel 2015 in Lussemburgo, al Centre d’art – Ville de Dudelange Nei Liicht, a cura di Danielle Igniti, raduna alcuni temi portanti del lavoro dell’artista lussemburghese: il rapporto del mondo contemporaneo con le libertà, i sistemi del potere, il ruolo dell’arte e delle sue forme.

Claudia Passeri (1977) vive e lavora in Lussemburgo. Ha studiato graphic design, scenografia e fotografia a Bologna, Bruxelles e Roma. Dal 2002 il suo lavoro è stato esposto regolarmente in Belgio, Francia, Italia, Lussemburgo e negli Stati Uniti. Nel 2006 ha fondato il progetto curatoriale Agence Borderline con Michèle Walerich. Organizza frequentemente collaborazioni con artisti e autori di diverse discipline. Nel 2011 si è aggiudicato il premio Edward Steichen Award Luxem¬bourg che ha dato luogo nel 2012 a una residenza di quattro mesi all’ISCP di New York. Una selezione dei suoi ultimi lavori è stata esposta nel 2014 al Musée d’Art Moderne (Mudam) in Lussemburgo a al BOZAR (Bruxelles). Nel 2015 ha avuto una personale al Centre d’Art Nei Liicht de Dudelange (Luxembourg). Dal 2016 un lavoro monumentale permanente (Zeitgeist - Karl Cobain) si trova al Casino Luxembourg - Forum d’Art Contemporain. Nel 2016 ha ottenuto una residenza di ricerca alla Fonderie Darling à Montréal (Canada) dal Fonds Culturel National del Lussemburgo (FOCUNA).

Parallelamente nel Srisa Project Space si inaugura la mostra personale di Greg Watts.

For her first solo show in Florence the Luxembourg based artist Claudia Passeri presents a series of artworks where the concept of time is interpreted as a tool of control and oppression and as a possible device for liberation. This exhibition is an evolution from a project presented in Luxembourg at the Centre d'Art de Ville Dudelange In Liicht that was curated by Danielle Igniti in 2015. "Mangia Mina” includes the primary themes explored by the artist such as: the relationship between the contemporary world and freedom, systems of power, as well as the role of art and the various forms it takes.
This exhibition is an evolution from a project presented in Luxembourg at the Centre d'Art de Ville Dudelange In Liicht that was curated by Danielle Igniti in 2015. "Mangia Mina” includes the primary themes explored by the artist such as: the relationship between the contemporary world and freedom, systems of power, as well as the role of art and the various forms it takes. Claudia Passeri lives and works in Luxembourg. She studied graphic design, scenography, and photography in Boulogne, Brussels and Rome. Since 2002, her work has been shown regularly in Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the United States. In 2006, she founded the curatorial project Agence Borderline along with Michele Walerich. In 2011, she was the laureate of the Edward Steichen Award Luxembourg, which led to a four-month residency at ISCP in New York in 2012. A selection of her latest works was exhibited in the Musée d’Art Moderne (Mudam) in Luxembourg and at the BOZAR in Brussels. In 2015, she had a solo exhibition at the Centre d’Art Nei Liicht of Dudelange (Luxembourg). Since early 2016, she presents a monumental permanent work (Zeitgeist - Karl Cobain) at the Casino Luxembourg - Forum d’Art Contemporain. In 2016, she obtained a research residency at the Darling Foundry in Montreal (Canada) by the National Culture Fund of Luxembourg (FOCUNA).
