All’origine del termine inglese “picnic” si trova quello francese di “pique-nique”, che significa: “rubacchiare qua e là cose di scarso valore”.
Trovo questa radice lessicale molto appropriata alla performance in generale, e a questa in particolare. La pratica performativa per me infatti ruota tutta intorno alla dimensione del fare qualcosa al tempo stesso di preciso e di indeterminato, a metà strada tra il reale e il simbolico, l’astratto e il concreto, il logico e l’illogico, tra il giusto e lo sbagliato. Alla continua e instabile ricerca della “giusta misura”. Per provare a toccare un mistero o un tesoro. Spesso nella “paccottiglia” si nasconde il “sacro”.
Dunque questa azione proverà a mettere in campo un picnic su un prato, per fare “come se”, e creare un po’ d’ordine tra oggetti smarriti di famiglia che tornano a galla, appartenuti a mio padre e non solo, legati al filo invisibile di un rito quotidiano. Oggetti e tovaglia sull’erba: un picnic predisposto per non essere consumato, per essere rinviato ad altra data.

In caso di maltempo la performance si terrà all'interno del castello.
