Mostra personale.
Comunicato stampa
The exhibition explores the theme of identity through the archetype of the mask, understood not merely as disguise, but as a site of transformation, protection, and revelation.
Sheer chiffon curtains, animated by the elements, welcome the visitor with evanescent presences: masks that evoke the animal world, insects, and archaic imagery. As daylight shifts and the wind sets them in motion, these surfaces become living membranes—revealing impermanence and the constant dialogue between inside and outside.
Alongside them, large-scale paintings on PVC, fragmented and reassembled with steel staples, depict archaic, contemporary, and fantastic human figures. Here the reference to the mask intertwines with that of cosmetic surgery: signs of a body rewritten, altered, ceaselessly searching for a new face.
As a whole, the exhibition invites reflection on the mask as a universal and archetypal symbol, and on identity in contemporary society: a condition in constant flux, oscillating between the desire to appear and the need to transform, between the image staged on social media and the rewriting of the body through cosmetic surgery.
