Noire Gallery presenta una mostra di Alberto Korda.

Comunicato stampa

Noire Gallery presents an exhibition by Alberto Korda. The photographs are vintage originals restored by the Khepri laboratory: personal photos, photos taken for magazines and portraits for political propaganda. The restoration is described in an interesting documentation which accounts for all the phases of the work done.Alberto Korda-is internationally recognized as the master of revolutionary Cuban photography. His most famous image is his powerful 1960 portrait of Che Guevara, 'Heroic Guerrilla,' which has since become the most reproduced image in the history of photography and became a worldwide emblem of revolution and rebellion. He was the official photographer of Fidel Castro. His photographs are known for their endurance. As a photographer, he always preferred to take photos in natural light. Korda's photographs served as the documentary of the entire Cuban revolution under Fidel Castro. He was a master of black-and-white photography looking for perfect composition and framing. Korda had unique creative ambition that he used to rise above in style when compared to the unimaginative cultural perspective of traditional Cuban photography. Every photo he took was a symbol of the revolution, instead of a documentary of the events of the revolution. He said : “Forget the camera, forget the lens, forget all of that. With any four-dollar camera, you can capture the best picture.”
