Attraverso gesti poetici e ironici, l’artista indaga, unisce e trasforma oggetti di uso quotidiano in opere effimere che esplorano le inaspettate proprietà di trasformazione di diversi materiali.

La ricerca di Navid Nuur si muove liberamente tra scultura e performatività, tra scienza e soggettività, tra un approccio analitico e uno quasi alchemico.
Attraverso gesti poetici e ironici, l'artista indaga, unisce e trasforma oggetti di uso quotidiano in opere effimere che esplorano le inaspettate proprietà di trasformazione di diversi materiali.
I suoi interventi suggeriscono ed esistono in uno stato interstiziale, in una continua evoluzione in cui l'interazione con gli spettatori e con l'ambiente, intesi come un sistema quasi organico, svolge un ruolo essenziale.

Un poster a doppia faccia raffigura un’interpretazione molto personale dell’Allegoria della Caverna di Platone, invitando gli spettatori ad utilizzare tutti i sensi e quasi definendo il tono della mostra.

Due lampadine obsolete sospese al soffitto sono riportate in funzione attraverso un gas neon che scorre tra loro, metafora sulla fusione di due buone idee che diventano una sola.

Una tela grezza e il suo gesso, il silenzioso punto di partenza della pittura, diventano una composizione che ridefinisce i generi classici e indaga il tempo, lo spazio e la materia.

Un disegno a muro realizzato con la cenere di fiammiferi raffigura un cumulo di nuvole, immobilizzato nel momento in cui può ancora divenire qualsiasi cosa, come uno spirito che può decidere se portare la pioggia o svanire nel cielo.

Uno scarabocchio a penna si trasforma in una piccola figura in filo metallico che riposa in un barattolo pieno di sapone. Aprendo la parte superiore ed esponendo il filo all'aria, per un breve istante l’opera prede vita.

Un pezzo di vetro tagliato a mano e segnato dall’acido è sospeso in equilibrio precario a delle prese da arrampicata. La superficie reagisce all’ambiente, cambiando secondo la luce che lo circonda.

Un cerotto per le dita è conservato attraverso una stampa 3D in titanio, diventando un prezioso ciondolo che ha perso la sua funzione, ma conserva una memoria personale.

Queste sono le tracce lasciate da Navid Nuur nello spazio.
Oscillando tra la loro presenza fisica e il loro effetto onirico, ci ritroviamo in un mondo di scoperta che si muove attraverso esperimenti, errori e sorprese inaspettate.

Navid Nuur’s practice moves between sculpture and performativity, between science and subjectivity, between an analytical and an almost alchemical approach.
Through poetic and humorous gestures, the artist questions, combines and turns everyday objects into ephemeral works that investigate the unexpected, transformative properties of different materials.
His works suggest and exist in an in-between status, a continuous evolution in which the interaction with both the viewers and the environment, seen as an almost organic system, play an important role.

A double-sided poster depicts a very personal interpretation of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, inviting the viewers to use all their senses and almost setting the tone of the exhibition.

Two obsolete light bulbs suspended to the ceiling are brought back to function through a neon gas that runs between them, a metaphor for the fusion of two good ideas becoming one.

An unprepared canvas and its gesso, the silent starting point of painting, become a composition that reconstructs classical genres and investigates time, space and matter.

A wall painting made out of the ashes of matches depicts a cumulus cloud, frozen in the moment when it can become anything, as if a spirit that can decide to bring rain or dissolve in the sky.

A pen-testing doodle is turned into a small wire figure that rests in a jar full of soap. By opening the top and exposing the wire to the air, for a brief moment the work comes to life.

A hand cut piece of glass marked by acids hangs on climbing gears in a precarious balance. The surface reacts to its environment, changing according to its surrounding light.

A used finger plaster is preserved through a titanium 3D print, becoming a precious pendant that lost its function but conserves a personal memory.

These are the traces left by Nuur in the space.
Moving between their physical presence and their dreamlike effect, we find ourselves into a world of discovery that goes through experiments, failures and unexpected surprises.
