“...Quando tutto ebbe inizio
il Sole era così vicino alla Terra che la stava prosciugando
i primi Popoli
figli del Sole e della Luna
danzarono la Rutuguri
danzando
fecero regredire il Sole
e da allora
le stelle si riflettono sui campi
e noi dobbiamo seguire la loro luce
per leggere il disegno della danza.

Il luogo della cerimonia è un luogo sacro
un luogo importante
questo campo è il mondo
qui sacrifichiamo gli animali
così che tutti gli dei, gli uomini e i morti
possano partecipare
questo è il luogo della danza
dobbiamo danzare per far girare il mondo
e non interromperne l'armonia

Balliamo perché abbiamo fatto qualcosa di buono per Papà Dio
Lui ci ha dato la vita per ballare
Lui ci darà la vita per un altro anno

Noi non balliamo per piacere
questo è un lavoro sacro...” *
