Come una trama tessuta a più mani, un testo scritto a più riprese, Text(iles) intende interrogarsi sui differenti usi del tessile, sulla sua struttura, trama e relazioni.

How many ways exist to tell the same story1?
As if it was a text, textile is readable, translatable and can be interpreted.
The use of textiles in contemporary art shows influences between different disciplines which are engaged, which try to experiment by respecting and mastering it.
This is a platform for artistic research as much as it is a product; it is a support for a designer brand as much as it represents a way to hide and mask something; in general, textile behaves as a complex instrument by which the encounter between artists, designers and graphic artists can be an opportunity of exchange and reflection on the contemporary.
As if it was a weave composed by different hands, as if it was a text written in different moments, Text(iles) tries to investigate the different textile uses, to reflect over its structure, weave and connections.
Building a multi-disciplinary expositionary proposal based on entanglement, the show wants to reflect on the current state of art in relation to craft, on the contrast of forms and languages which inform textile’s position in visual arts.
Each kind of variation, method and the creation of original works, helps to re-contextualize a practice linked to an ancient tradition and imaginary body.

Quanti modi esistono per raccontare la stessa storia1?
Come fosse testo, il tessuto è leggibile, traducibile e interpretabile.
Associare il suo utilizzo alla contemporaneità, sollecita un’indagine sulle reciproche contaminazioni esistenti tra le varie discipline che se ne appropriano, lo sperimentano rispettan- dolo e padroneggiandolo.
La materia è piattaforma di ricerca artistica quanto prodotto commerciale; è piano privilegiato per una firma autorale quanto dispositivo per nascondere e mascherare; più in generale, il tessuto si comporta come uno strumento complesso attraverso cui individuare l’incontro tra artisti, designer e grafici che propongano nuove riflessioni sul contemporaneo.

Costruendo una proposta espositiva multidisciplinare basata sul metodo dell’intreccio, il fine è il confronto con differenti forme e linguaggi che aiutino a mettere a fuoco il ruolo del- la materia tessile nell’ambito delle arti visive; le variazioni nei punti di vista e la creazione di prodotti inediti nella forma, nel linguaggio e nel messaggio, cercano di ricontestualizzare una pratica legata ad un immaginario prettamente tradizionale.
