Una mostra di storici manifesti dell’era psichedelica dei mid-Sixties per ricordare i 50 anni della “Summer of Love”.

Domenica 18 Giugno, ore 15.30 (a 50 anni esatti dal giorno in cui Jimi Hendrix incendiò la sua Stratocaster sul palco del Monterey Pop Festival), alla Wall Of Sound Gallery di Alba, ricorderemo i 50 anni della "Summer of Love" con STONE FREE, una mostra di storici manifesti dell'era psichedelica dei mid-Sixties, con opere di Wes Wilson, Rick Griffin, Victor Moscoso, Mouse & Kelley, John Van Hamersveld, Martin Sharp, Hapshash, Alan Aldridge, Mati Klarwein, Gunther Kieser, Milton Glaser e altri ancora. Un immaginario parallelo a quello della fotografia che è poi rimbalzato sulla grafica delle copertine dei dischi dei Beatles, Rolling Stones, Doors, Cream, Miles Davis, Santana, Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Frank Zappa e tanti altri. Il tutto accompagnato da una selezione di iconiche fotografie di Ed Caraeff, Jim Marshall, Bob Seidemann, Herb Greene, Art Kane. I manifesti saranno in vendita durante la mostra. Per l'occasione Wall Of Sound Editions pubblicherà un catalogo che raccoglierà tutte le immagini in mostra e altro ancora. STONE FREE rimarrà aperta fino al 10 settembre.

Sunday June 18, 3.30pm (50 years to the day Jimi Hendrix set his Strat on fire at the Monterey Pop Festival),at Wall Of Sound Gallery in Alba, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the "Summer of Love" with STONE FREE, an exhibition of historic posters of the psychedelic mid-Sixties. There will be original posters by such artists like Wes Wilson, Rick Griffin, Victor Moscoso, Mouse & Kelley, John Van Hamersveld, Martin Sharp, Hapshash, Alan Aldridge, Mati Klarwein, Gunther Kieser, Milton Glaser and many more. A visual journey that includes celebrated album covers by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Doors, Cream, Miles Davis, Santana, Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Frank Zappa and more. The show will also feature iconic photos by Ed Caraeff, Jim Marshall, Bob Seidemann, Herb Greene, Art Kane. Posters will be on sale during the show. Wall Of Sound Editions will publish a special catalogue that will include all the images on show and more. STONE FREE will stay open until September 10.
