Si terrà a Milano, Lunedì 4 giugno 2018 l’asta di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea + Oggetti di Design della BLINDARTE, dopo 6 giorni di esposizione nella storica sede napoletana (dal 10 al 16 maggio, incluso il weekend del 12 e 13) e dopo diversi giorni di esposizione nella nuova e prestigiosa sede milanese in Brera (dal 24 maggio alla data dell’asta, incluso i weekend del 26 e 27 maggio e del 2 e 3 giugno).
Tra le opere presentate, tutte provenienti da importanti collezioni private, va senza dubbio segnalato il Ritratto della Principessa Giovanna Pignatelli d’Aragona Cortés, un riuscitissimo dipinto realizzato da Andy Warhol, con la celebre tecnica dell’acrilico e serigrafia su tela.
L’opera, di pregevolissima fattura, è stata eseguita a New York nel 1975, un anno dopo il trasferimento nella Grande Mela della “Principessa della Dolce Vita” che, insieme al marito Gerald Bruneau, noto fotografo francese e stretto collaboratore di Andy Warhol, partecipava attivamente alla vita della celebre Factory di Warhol. Il ritratto, di dimensioni cm 66x56, è pubblicato nel Catalogue Raisonné dell’artista (Volume 4, numero 3122) ed è stato esposto nel 2015 in occasione della mostra dedicata a Lucio Amelio presso il Madre - museo d’arte contemporanea Donnaregina di Napoli e pubblicato nel catalogo dell’esposizione. L’opera, stimata 120.000/180.000 euro è sicuramente una delle più significative e degne di attenzione di questo catalogo d’asta.
Oltre al dipinto verrà anche esitata la celebre serigrafia Vesuvius realizzata da Andy Warhol insieme a Lucio Amelio nel 1985 a Napoli in omaggio alla città e presentata con una stima di 30.000/40.000 euro.
Di grande importanza è anche Volume a moduli sfasati, opera realizzata da Dadamaino nel 1960. Questa appartiene al ciclo iniziato nello stesso anno in cui l’artista tenta di liberarsi delle tecniche tradizionali dell’arte, della Materia e del suo peso, per creare nuove forme artistiche. La trasparenza del foglio, lo sfasamento del motivo e l’alternarsi del ritmo crea un’opera vibrante e accattivante di grande impatto visivo (dall’intervista di Luca Massimo Barbero a Dadamaino pubblicata su archiviodadamaino.it). Realizzata con fogli di plastica fustellata a mano su telai, di dimensioni cm 100x70, proveniente dalla Galleria Grossetti ed appena registrata presso l'Archivio Dadamaino, è presentata in catalogo con una stima di 50.000/70.000 euro. Da notare anche due lavori di Paolo Scheggi: moduli di cartone fustellato, legno dipinto (uno nero e uno bianco) e vetro, entrambi eseguiti nel 1971 e presentati in asta con una valutazione di partenza di 15.000/20.000 euro.
Il catalogo presenta anche una raccolta di opere dadaiste e surrealiste di cui Bayou, una eccezionale gouache su cartoncino di Dorothea Tanning, cm 38x51,5 eseguita nel 1953, proveniente dalla Collezione Arturo Schwarz e stimata 20.000/25.000 euro; un’opera su carta di Meret Oppenheim; Orientalische landschaft Indische Pagode, un olio su cartone di dimensioni cm 22x36 realizzato nel 1935 da Alfred Kubin e stimato 10.000/15.000 euro o ancora quattro rappresentative sculture di Salvador Dalì (Vénus spatiale, La noblesse du temps, Le profil du temps e Cheval à la montre molle) eseguite tra il 1981 e il 1984 presentate con una stima che varia dal 7.000/9.000 euro al 10.000/15.000 euro.
Spicca anche la rara opera pittorica di Giacomo Balla, Scena spirituale (uomo e donna nel fluido compenetrato di luce), un delicato olio su tavola (1925-30 circa) cm 33,5x20. L’opera firmata BALLA, con expertise di Maurizio Fagiolo dell’Arco e Maria Drudi Gambillo Crispolti e parere verbale di Elena Gigli, sarà presentata in asta con una valutazione di euro 25.000/30.000.

Anche presente in catalogo l’affascinante Spazio anche più che tempo di Carol Rama, un collage di gomme su cartoncino nero lucido, cm 18,6x35,4 eseguito nel 1971 e archiviato presso l’Archivio Carol Rama. L’opera dell’artista italiana, singolare e anticonformista, è soggetta negli ultimi anni a una rivalutazione da parte della critica e le sue quotazioni sono in costante ascesa. Spazio anche più che tempo è presentato in catalogo con una stima di 15.000/20.000 euro. Vanno ugualmente notati il Cellotex W1 di Alberto Burri eseguito nel 1980 e pubblicato sul catalogo generale, presentato con una valutazione di 40.000/60.000 euro e l’elegante lavoro di Gino De Dominicis, Gilgamesh, un olio e foglia d’oro su tavola di dimensioni cm 35x29,5 eseguito negli anni ’90 stimato 25.000/35.000 euro, nonché un pregevole dipinto di Alfredo Chighine del 1959 dal titolo Serchio e proposto in asta con una stima di 16.000/22.000 euro.
Anche presenti tre sculture in ferro di Giuseppe Spagnulo di cui Ferro spezzato n. 8, eseguito nel 1975 e stimato 10.000/15.000 euro.
Di grande fattura è anche il dipinto dal titolo Sequenza, un acrilico su tela realizzato da Valerio Adami nel 1975 di dimensioni cm 93x73,5, presentato in catalogo con una valutazione di 20.000/30.000 euro; Face series: Untitled, eseguito nel 1975 da Karel Appel di dimensioni 100x70 e stimata 18.000/25.000 euro; l’importante acrilico su carta di riso Three Cats di Walasse Ting eseguito nel 1985, cm 69,5x111,5, da cui è stata realizzata la famosa serie di litografie è proposto con una valutazione di 7.000/10.000 euro; Afferrare la magia di Carla Accardi, un’importante olio su tela del 2003, esposto nella personale dell’artista al MACRO nel 2004/5, con stima 25.000/30.000 euro; o ancora l’imponente opera Notte di Alfredo Pirri, cm 130x328x30, eseguita nel 2003 e stimata 18.000/25.000 euro.
Tra le opere più recenti, spicca anche la serigrafia su stoffa intitolata Anna, 7 a.m.Herbstzeitlose di Carsten Höller, più volte esposta e proposta con una stima di 10.000/15.000 euro; un olio su tela Untitled dipinto nel 2007 da Wilhelm Sasnal stimato 8.000/12.000 euro; Nudo 12 eseguito da GL Brierley nel 2011 è proposto con una valutazione di 6.000/8.000 euro. Anche presenti in catalogo due olii su tela di Michel Majerus, grande artista scomparso prematuramente, di dimensioni cm 60x60, entrambi eseguiti nel 1999 e presentati con una stima di 8.000/12.000 euro ed un originalissimo lavoro di Flavio Favelli dal titolo Archivio del 2004 stimato 3.500/4.500 euro.
Tra i pezzi di Design va segnalato senza dubbio: Oro e pepite, nato dalla collaborazione tra Mimmo Paladino, Doriana e Massimiliano Fuksas. Questo complemento d’arredo realizzato nel 2006 e composto da tre elementi in legno laccato e bronzo, ciascuno di dimensioni cm 200x50x50 è presentato con una stima di 20.000/30.000 euro. Il totem in ceramica intitolato Chocolat, prodotto da Mirabili nel 1994 e stimato 12.000/18.000 euro di Ettore Sottsass, 4 famose sedie di Franz West.

It will be held in Milan, Monday 4 June 2018 the auction of Modern and Contemporary Art + Design objects by BLINDARTE, after 6 days of exposure in the historic Neapolitan headquarters (from 10 to 16 May, including the weekend of 12 and 13) and after several days of exposure in the new and prestigious venue in Milan at Brera (from 24 May to the auction date, including the weekends of 26 and 27 May and 2 and 3 June).
Among the artworks presented, all coming from important private collections, it should be undoubtedly signalled the Portrait of the Princess Giovanna Pignatelli by Aragona Cortés, a very successful painting made by Andy Warhol, with the famous acrylic technique and silk-screen printing on canvas.
The highly prized work was executed in New York in 1975, a year after the transfer to the Big Apple of the "Princess of the Sweet Life" who, together with her husband Gerald Bruneau, well-known French photographer and close ollaborator of Andy Warhol, participated actively in the life of the famous Warhol Factory. The portrait, 66x56 cm in size, is published in the artist's Raisonné Catalog (Volume 4, number 3122) and was exhibited in 2015 for the exhibition dedicated to Lucio Amelio at the Madre - Donnaregina Museum of Contemporary Art in Naples and published in the exhibition catalog. The work, estimated at 120,000/180,000 euros, is certainly one of the most significant and worthy of attention of this auction catalog.
In addition to the painting, the famous serigraphy Vesuvius created by Andy Warhol together with Lucio Amelio in 1985 in Naples in homage to the city will be also be exhibited and presented with an estimate of 30,000/40,000 euros.
Of great importance is Volume with offset modules, an artwork created by Dadamaino in 1960. This belongs to the cycle started in the same year in which the artist tries to get rid of the traditional techniques of art, of Matter and its weight, to create new artistic forms. The transparency of the paper, the displacement of the motif and the alternation of rhythm creates a vibrant and captivating artwork of great visual impact (from the interview of Luca Massimo Barbero to Dadamaino published on archiviodadamaino.it). Made with plastic sheets punched by hand on frames, dimensions cm 100x70, this work is recorded at the Dadamaino Archive and it is presented with an estimate of 50.000/70.000 euro. Also worth noting are two works by Paolo Scheggi: modules of die-cut cardboard, painted wood (one black and one white) and glass, both executed in 1971 and presented at the auction with a starting estimate of 15,000/20,000 euros.
The catalog also presents an exceptional collection of Dadaist and Surrealist works of which Bayou, an exceptional gouache on cardboard by Dorothea Tanning, 38x51.5 cm made in 1953, coming from the Collection Arturo Schwarz and estimated at 20,000/25,000 euros; a work on paper by Meret Oppenheim; Orientalische landschaft Indische Pagode, an oil on cardboard measuring 22x36 cm made in 1935 by Alfred Kubin and estimated 10,000/15,000 euros or also four beautiful sculptures by Salvador Dali (Vénus spatiale, La noblesse du temps, Le profil du temps and Cheval à la montre molle) executed between 1981 and 1984 presented with an estimate ranging from 7,000/9,000 euros to 10,000/15,000 euros.
The very rare and beautiful work by Giacomo Balla stands out, spiritual Scene (men and women penetrated with fluid), a delicate oil on board (1925-30) 33.5 x 20 cm. The work signed by BALLA, with an expertise by Maurizio Fagiolo dell'Arco and Maria Drudi Gambillo Crispolti and verbal opinion by Elena Gigli, will be presented at the auction with an evaluation of € 25,000/30,000.

The fascinating Space even more than time by Carol Rama will also be present in the catalog, a collage of rubbers on glossy black cardboard, cm 18.6x35.4 executed in 1971 and filed at the Carol Rama Archive. The singular and unconventional work of the Italian artist has been subjected to a revaluation by critics in recent years and its quotations are constantly rising. Space even more than time is presented in the catalog with an estimate of 15,000/20,000 euros. Also the most refined Cellotex W1 by Alberto Burri executed in 1980 and published in the general catalog, presented with an evaluation of 40.000/60.000 euros and the elegant work of Gino De Dominicis, Gilgamesh, an oil and gold leaf on a table of dimensions 35x29.5 cm made in the 90s estimated 25,000/35,000 euros, as well as a valuable painting by Alfredo Chighine 1959 entitled Serchio and proposed at the auction with an estimate of € 16,000/22,000 are also noteworthy.
Also present are three important iron sculptures by Giuseppe Spagnulo among which Broken iron n. 8, executed in 1975 and estimated 10,000/15,000 euros.
The painting with the title Sequence is also of great workmanship, an acrylic on canvas made by Valerio Adami in 1975 dimensions cm 93x73.5, presented in the catalog with an evaluation of 20.000/30.000 euro; Face series: Untitled, executed in 1975 by Karel Appel dimensions 100x70 and estimated 18,000/25,000 euros; the important acrylic on rice paper Three Cats by Walasse Ting executed in 1985, 69.5x111.5 cm, from which the famous series of lithographs has been realized is proposed with an evaluation of 7,000/10,000 euro; Grab the magic by Carla Accardi, an important oil on canvas of 2003, exhibited in the artist's personal exhibition at MACRO in 2004/5, with an estimate of 25,000/30,000 euros; or even the impressive work Night by Alfredo Pirri, 130x328x30 cm, executed in 2003 and estimated at 18,000/25,000 euros.
Among the most recent works, also the serigraphy printed on cloth titlted Anna, 7 a.m.Herbstzeitlose by Carsten Höller stands out, repeatedly exposed and proposed with an estimate of 10,000/15,000 euros; an oil on canvas Untitled painted in 2007 by Wilhelm Sasnal estimated 8,000/12,000 euros; Naked 12 executed by GL Brierley in 2011 is proposed with an evaluation of 6,000/8,000 euros. Also present in the catalog are two oils on canvas by Michel Majerus, great artist who disappeared prematurely, dimensions 60x60 cm, both executed in 1999 and presented with an estimate of 8,000/12,000 euro and a very original work by Flavio Favelli entitled Archive of 2004 estimated 3,500/4,500 euros.
Among the Design pieces is without doubt to be noted: gold and gold nuggets, a collaboration between Mimmo Paladino, Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas. This piece of furniture made in 2006 and composed of three elements in lacquered wood and bronze, each of size 200x50x50 cm is presented with an estimate of 20,000/30,000 euros. The ceramic totem entitled Chocolat, produced by Mirabili in 1994 and estimated at 12.000/18.000 euros by Ettore Sottsass, and 4 famous chairs by Franz West.
