La mia nuova serie di lavori “Pixel-Collage” coinvolge il crescente fenomeno del Senza volto.
Il volto, nel nostro mondo post-verità, non è più l’interfaccia che ti permette di entrare in contatto con gli altri.
Il “Pixel-collage” vuole affermare una forma che – attraverso l’astrazione depixellata – apre verso una nuova interazione con l’altro: Behind Facelessness.

The “Pixel-Collage” sono stati presentati al Kunsthal Aarhus, Danimarca (2017), presso la Dvir Gallery, Tel-Aviv (2016) e alla galleria Galerie Chantal Crousel, Parigi (2016).

Thomas Hirschhorn è nato nel 1957 a Bern (Svizzera).
Ha studiato presso la Schule für Gestaltung a Zurigo dal 1978 al 1983 e si è spostato a Parigi nel 1982, dove vive da allora. Il suo lavoro è stato presentato in numerosi musei, gallerie e mostre collettive tra le quali vanno segnalate: la Biennale di Venezia (nel 1999 e nel 2015), Documenta11 (2002), la 2° Biennale di Sao Paolo (2006), alla 55° Carnegie International, Pittsburg (2008), Il padiglione Svizzero alla 54 Biennale di Venezia (2011), La Triennale at Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012), la 9° Biennale di Shanghai (2012), Gladstone Gallery New York (2012), Manifesta 10 a San-Pietroburgo (2014),
Atopolis Mons (2015) South London Gallery (2015) Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato (2016), Kunsthal Aarhus, Denmark (2017)
I progetti ‘Presence and Production’ di Thomas Hirschhorn includono "Gramsci Monument" nel Bronx, a New York, 2013, “Flamme éternelle” al Palais de Tokyo, Paris, 2014, “Bijlmer Spinoza Festival”, Amsterdam, 2009, e “Sperr” alla Biennale di Wiesbaden 2016.

Il libro “Gramsci Monument” è stato pubblicato nel 2015 dagli editori Dia and Koenig.
Ad ogni mostra in musei, gallerie e/o spazi alternativi, con opere specifiche in uno spazio pubblico, Thomas Hirschhorn afferma il suo impegno ad aprire lo show ad un pubblico non esclusivo. Thomas Hirschhorn ha ricevuto, tra gli altri, i seguenti premi:
“Preis für Junge Schweizer Kunst” (1999), “Premio Marcel Duchamp” (2000), "Rolandpreis für Kunst im öffentlichen Raum" (2003), Premio “Joseph Beuys” 2004) e il premio “Kurt Schwitters” (2011).

Thomas Hirschhorn, Aubervilliers, 2016-2017

Thomas Hirschhorn was born in 1957 in Bern (Switzerland). He studied at the Schule für Gestaltung Zürich from 1978 to 1983 and moved to Paris in 1983, where he has been living since. His work is shown in numerous museums, galleries and exhibitions among which the Venice Biennale (1999 and 2015), Documenta11 (2002), 27th Sao Paolo Biennale (2006), 55th Carnegie International, Pittsburg (2008), the Swiss Pavillion, 54th Venice Biennale (2011), La Triennale at Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012), 9th Shanghai Biennale (2012), Gladstone Gallery New York (2012), Manifesta 10 in Saint-Petersburg (2014), Atopolis Mons (2015) South London Gallery (2015) Center for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci, Prato (2016), Kunsthal Aarhus, Denmark (2017) among others.
