Dopo Things can change quickly, Radical Intention continua il suo percorso di residenze con Milano Open house invitando curatori internazionali e non a scoprire il territorio di Milano - leggendariamente considerato “inospitale” - attraverso un percorso costruito su misura tra le case e gli studi degli artisti. In cambio dell’ospitalità da parte degli artisti, i curatori presenteranno il loro lavoro pubblicamente, e lasceranno un commento sulla loro esperienza in forma di testo, articolo o saggio.
In collaborazione con Vessel, Radical Intention ospiterà Arzu Yayıntaş e Pieter Vermeulen dal 6 all'8 giugno. I due curatori presenteranno il loro percorso curatoriale in una conversazione con Aria Spinelli, curatrice e membro di Radical Intention.

Arzu Yayıntaş è una curatrice che vive tra Antakya ed Istanbul. Dal 2002 ha co-curato diverse mostre internazionali in spazi publici e non-profit in molte città della Turchia, a Rotterdam e Sofia. Ha insegnato per due anni storia dell’arte contemporanea alla Yeditepe University. Oltre a contribuire al Geniş Açı Magazine come scrittrice, è stata membro della redazione di questa rivista per cinque anni. Dopo aver lavorato come direttore associato di Proje4L-Istanbul Museum of Contemporary Art, ha lavorato come artistic exhibition manager per l’undicesima Biennale Internazionale di Istanbul. Recentemente ha curato la seconda Biennale Internazionale di Antakya, “Thank You for Your Understanding”. E’ uno dei membri fondatori di AGUSAD (Antakya Contemporary Art Association), un’iniziativa in Antakya dedicata al supporto del dialogo culturale nella regione. E’ una delle curatrici della 30th Today’s Artist exhibition che avrà luogo nel Luglio 2011 a Akbank Sanat, İstanbul.
Pieter Vermeulen, anno 1983, è filosofo, scrittore e curatore indipendente residente ad Anversa, Belgio. Attualmente è guest professor in filosofia dell’arte presso la University College Ghent – Facoltà di Belle Arti e Facoltà di Musica. Il suo background formativo è di impronta filosofica e di studi umanistici. In seguito agli studi ha iniziato un’attività di produttore-manager, coordinatore e critico d’arte.In qualità di curatore e teorico, Pieter ha contributo a progetti quali la mostra sui new media “Fantastic Illusions” (MOCA Shanghai/Buda Kortrijk) e “Resonance” (Bund18/World Expo 2010 - Belgian Pavilion, Shanghai), e partecipato all’ICI’s Curatorial Intensive tenutosi aNew York. Ha moderato e co-organizzato diverse conferenze internazionali come “Double Take” di Johan Grimonprez, “Tickle Your Catastrophe!” e “The Documentary Real” (Vooruit, Ghent), nonché pubblicato numerosi articoli per cataloghi di mostre.

After Things Can Change Quickly, Radical Intention continues its residency program with Milano open house inviting Italian and international curators to visit the area of Milan - legendarily considered to be "inhospitable" - through a custom-built tour between the artists' houses and studios. In return of the artists’ hospitality, curators will present their work publicly and leave a comment on their experience in the form of text, article or essay.

Thanks to a collaboration with Vessel, Radical Intention will host Arzu Yayıntaş and Pieter Vermeulen from the 6th to the 8th of June. The curators will present their curatorial backgrounds in a conversation with curator Aria Spinelli, member of Radical Intention.

Arzu Yayıntaş is a curator based in Antakya and Istanbul. Since 2002 she has co-curated several international exhibitions in public space and non-profit spaces in several cities in Turkey and in Rotterdam and Sofia. She taught contemporary art history as a part time lecturer at the Yeditepe University for two years.

Besides contributing to the Geniş Açı Magazine as a writer, she took part in the editorial board of the magazine for five years. After working as the associate director at Proje4L-Istanbul Museum of Contemporary Art, she worked as the artistic exhibition manager of the 11th International Istanbul Biennial.

Recently she curated the 2nd International Antakya Biennial, “Thank You for Your Understanding”. She is one of the founder members of the AGUSAD (Antakya Contemporary Art Association) which is an initiative based in Antakya dedicated to support the cultural dialogue within the region. She is one of the curators of the 30th Today’s Artist exhibition which will take place in July 2011 in Akbank Sanat, İstanbul.

Pieter Vermeulen is a philosopher, writer and independent curator based in Antwerp, Belgium. He is currently holding a position as guest professor in philosophy and philosophy of art at University College Ghent – Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Music.His educational background lies in philosophy and cultural studies (MA). After his studies, he started working as a producer-manager, coordinator and art critic.As both a curator and theorist, Pieter contributed to projects such as the new media exhibitions Fantastic Illusions(MOCA Shanghai/Buda Kortrijk) andResonance (Bund18/World Expo 2010 – Belgian Pavilion, Shanghai), and participated in ICI’s Curatorial Intensivein New York City.He moderated and co-/organized different international conferences, e.g. on Double Take by Johan Grimonprez,Tickle Your Catastrophe! and The Documentary Real (Vooruit, Ghent), and has articles published in many exhibition catalogues.
